What's the deal with Australia being here so soon?

No it's called making money

Very strange set up.

I'm off to Lords to see them against Middlesex (third time I'll have seen the Seaxes this year) unless I don't. There's Eton v Harrow (Harrow to you too) a couple of weeks later. Might go to that instead.

RE: England at home, May-June 2018 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 21-05-2018

It is a bit odd we've decided against any white-ball games vs Pakistan in favour of more Aussie overkill. That said, having taken them to the cleaners in the January series and with the Smith/Warner affair to taunt them about now, maybe it's just the right time for them to pay a visit Big Grin

If the weather holds, the Scotland match should prove interesting too. They gave a really good account of themselves in the World Cup qualifiers and were desperately unlucky not to qualify.

England win the toss at Lord's and elect to bat. Bit of a surprise, tinge of green on the pitch and plenty of cloud cover, but Root's gambling that it'll improve.

Cook plays his 153rd consecutive test, breaking Allan Border's record, I read.

Nice that his team mates have decided to celebrate by spending a short while with him each, then passing the baton on to the next.

Half-century for Cook, him and Bairstow putting together a watchful partnership after a tough morning session at the crease. The decision to bat isn't looking stellar so far, but England are coping right now, and conditions might yet improve. 84-3.
