Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 26-04-2018 Tony Godden and Ally Robertson keep Albion's sheet clean at St James's Park; 10th September 1977
In many ways, the most striking thing about Albion's cracking comeback against Liverpool last Saturday was how downhearted and disconsolate the players seemed in their post-match interviews, all because they didn't go on and get the third goal which would have given us all the points and a slender hope of survival. The likes of Phillips, Rondon and Livermore seem rejuvenated under Big Dave's guidance, and though it's tempting to ask why exactly they couldn't have shown the same professionalism six - or even three - months ago, I regard it as better late than never. How we finish the season may well have a bearing on how things go down in the Champ next year, and as we visit Tyneside this weekend, we have to be looking to emulate the Geordies' exploits in the second-tier rather than their more wayward neighbours. Newcastle have reached forty points for the season, and there's every chance they may be on the beach for this one; if we can show the same drive and determination we have for the last few weeks, there should be something for us in this. RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - talkSAFT - 27-04-2018 I thought this might be a 6-pointer a month or 2 ago. But I agree with what Ska'd says: "they may be on the beach" already. On current form we're in with a chance. Anyone going/gone? RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 27-04-2018 Trouble is ....... we could end up winning this game, Stoke lose to Liverpool, Swansea lose to Chelsea and Southampton lose or draw to/with Bournemouth ....... that would make it ...... Swansea plyd 35 33 points Saints. Plyd 35 29/30 points Stoke. Plyd 36 29 points Albion. Plyd 36 28 points Starts to give one hope of survival ........ slim but there non the less ...... feelings of what could / should have been if the players had started playing a month earlier ......... only to have them all dashed. Albion to win 2 - 1 ...... COYB RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - BaggieSteve - 28-04-2018 (27-04-2018, 16:17)talkSAFT Wrote: I thought this might be a 6-pointer a month or 2 ago. Always get a nosebleed in the away section st SJP RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - silverbaggie - 28-04-2018 There's talk that Sturridge might be fit for this game (at least for the first 5 minutes anyway). Would anyone risk playing him? ![]() Also Chadli????? Whatever next? ![]() RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - Beefy 1965 - 28-04-2018 Guess who told you this over Xmas time .... I heard this months ago,so why did the club not come out and say so back then ? # baffled !! James Morrison ruled out for rest of the season and his #wba contract is up in summer - but Darren Moore hopes he hasn’t played his last game for the Albion https://t.co/hThUT6QNKx RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - valpayne - 28-04-2018 newcastle had a wobble last week but they're looking more like the team that we never hardly ever got anything from especially at SJP. That said I'm more hopeful under BD than at any point with TP or AP. I think were going to get another draw here 1-1 RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - Baggievicar - 28-04-2018 Who's going to be today's Somen Tchoyi, then? RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 28-04-2018 Unchanged team for the fourth straight match. RE: Newcastle vs WBA - Match Thread - Dingle-Dingle - 28-04-2018 Has Chadli been abducted by Aliens?? DD ![]() ![]() |
