VAR - themaclad - 28-02-2018 Total bollocks 5th VAR in 20 minutes in the Spurs game awful RE: VAR - St Charles Owl - 28-02-2018 I like VAR, or at least I like the concept of it for reviewing certain things. Its not designed though to take all the decisions out of the refs hands or give him a safety net to not make a decision. Haven't seen the incidents yet, about to watch them. RE: VAR - themaclad - 28-02-2018 May take you a long time RE: VAR - St Charles Owl - 28-02-2018 Just seen the first decision to rule out the goal, definitely holding by the Spurs player. See that every week and its something that needs to be called more often. The penalty decision was also right, foul started outside the box and then carried on into the box. Technically the ref is allowing play to go on but the foul continues and therefore its a penalty. I think he also got the call right to disallow the penalty, you cannot stop in your run up, you can slow down, take a small step but you have to keep moving. Also because he stopped there were players virtually level with him when he took it, again that is not allowed. Not sure of the rule in this case, but they seem to think on the Bee b and on Fox over here that that should result in a free kick to the defence. The real problem is not getting the right call, they seem to have here, its making the whole process quicker, it is taking too long to make these decisions, that is what they need to work on. RE: VAR - themaclad - 01-03-2018 Speed is the key otherwise three hour games RE: VAR - Lord Snooty - 01-03-2018 They have to restrict it's use like in cricket and tennis. Something like one review per team, per half and only the team captain can call for a review. As it is now, it's just a joke. |
