Chairman and Chief Executive Sacked - CJBaggies - 13-02-2018

WEST Bromwich Albion today announce changes at the senior level of the Club.

Chairman John Williams and Chief Executive Martin Goodman have been given notice of termination of their contracts and have been placed on garden leave with immediate effect.

Following his recent appointment as a director of WBA Holdings, the Club's controlling company, Mark Jenkins is returning to be the football club's CEO.

These changes follow Albion's poor results this season which currently sees the Club at the bottom of the Premier League.

A Club spokesperson said: "We would like to thank John and Martin for all their efforts since their appointments and wish them well for the future."

Mark, who was previously CEO of the football club for 14 years, ten of which were spent in the Premier League, said: "There is much to do but for now the focus must solely be on the remaining games of this season."

There will be no further comment from the Club at this time.

Heads are rolling already, and deservedly so in my opinion.

If we'd have acted this swiftly earlier in the season, we may not be in the mess we are now.

The clear out has begun and to be honest, they both deserve to go.

Poor leadership and decision making from the top has been detrimental to the club this season.

This could turn out to be exceedingly good or exceedingly bad, at present though I can only see the positives.

Glad Williams has gone, took far too long for Pulis to go and Pardew wasn't the right appointment IMO (hope I'm wrong). I'd actually sack him and get Marco Silva in now, as we're in desperate need of some new manager impetus.

Not too sure how Nick Hammond survived if he was largely responsible for employing Pardew either.

Not sure about who does what at this level......probably both responsible in some way for Pulis staying for too long and some questionable transfers.......also not sure whether this'll have any impact at all on the pitch in the season's remaining games, sad to say

At least now we can see that Mr Lai will be ruthless. He is not going to sit back and watch incompetent idiots run his expensive project into the ground. This decision won't have much impact on what happens on the pitch for the remainder of the season but at least it shows the owner is willing to change things at the top of the club to punish incompetence and hopefully set up a brighter future.

I think whether we stay up or go down Mr Lai will want a complete overhaul. New Chairman, new Chief Executive, new Technical Director and an overhaul of the squad and coaching staff at the very least.

I'm sure several others are looking over their shoulders. Sick

But is he prepared to pay for the overhaul of the squad Josh? If we go down, the money coming into the club will go down due to reduced TV money, lower attendances etc. This will also affect how much can be spent to stay within FFP.
