ZAVON HINES - Devongone - 04-01-2018

So it is confirmed that we get Sid Nelson. I hope a hot head who can't get in the Yeovil team, whose entire ambition is to play for Millwall where he's lived and played football for the last 14 years ....... is a better bet than it sounds. It at least sounds as though he'll be up for a fight ......

We've also grabbed Zavon Hines out of non-league. The main problem with him is he's 29 and has tried and not quite done it in the league many times before. Burnley once paid £250,000 for him. Though he started at West Ham he's seen Burnley and Bradford so Chesterfield won't come as a shock. The 18 month contract surprises me ......

Early season he was a huge hit in the Vanarama, no-one could understand what he was doing down at that level. Lately he's been quieter. He'll certainly add one of the elements GC forgot to incorporate in his team and his arrival probably confirms the eventual end of Reece Mitchell as an EFL player and I'd guess Diego de Girolamo at Chesterfield.

I'm guessing Jack thinks Zavon will be excited by the move and have the immediate impact he had at Maidstone. On a going day he's good enough to pull defences around, make chances for others and to score himself. But at 29 we're definitely the last chance saloon for this former U-21 England international.
