Mince Pie Moments - Amelia Chaffinch - 22-12-2017 Kim Leadbeater was on the Radio Weeds a couple of weeks ago promoting mince pie moments, another campaign in memory of the late Jo Cox. It's primarily to combat loneliness but Andrew Edwards ont'radio has been encouraging folk to nominate who they'd like to nominate to share a mince pie. Most of them have been to say thank you to someone. There was one today who wanted to have one with Chris Schindler (wouldn't we all ![]() Who would you like to share a mince pie with? Please pretend you like mince pies for the purpose of this thread ![]() Mine is the same as the come dine with me thing we once did... Emmeline Pankhurst. Of the team, I reckon Hef would be a right laugh. If it was to thank someone; probably Ellen Tingle. I had loads of great teachers but she stands out (even if she made me study Chaucer, she did make it as fun as possible). RE: Mince Pie Moments - Lord Snooty - 22-12-2017 Not sure I'd want to share a mince pie with any of my Town heroes. Once met Steve Kindon and was so tongue tied I must've sounded like a gibbering idiot. If we're talking about people from history though, I'd love to share a mince pie with the bloke who invented Christmas, old Jesus H Christ himself. Would be nice to get his views on how it's become too commercialised these days and how he feels about Santa Claus taking all the glory. RE: Mince Pie Moments - Amelia Chaffinch - 22-12-2017 Or Zanka Claus? Oops, I'll get me coat. ![]() RE: Mince Pie Moments - jjamez - 23-12-2017 I don't like mince pies, where does that leave me? RE: Mince Pie Moments - Amelia Chaffinch - 23-12-2017 I did say in my OP that for the purpose of this exercise you will have to pretend that you like them. ![]() RE: Mince Pie Moments - jjamez - 23-12-2017 i guess in general i'd possibly go for someone along the lines of mandela, I've been to robben island and to walk around there with him, just to get his view on everything that happened and is happening. from a sporting perspective i wouldnt really like to say, i mean yeah hef would be a laugh but they are all so out there that everything they do is public, so i'd probably choose someone from the cricket field, bumble and ritchie benaud just to have a laugh and discuss the game and have a good old debate about it, then probably from the modern era ab de villiers and probably dale steyn (yes two more saffers) just to talk about technique and practices. of all time then you'd arguably have to go for the don RE: Mince Pie Moments - theo_luddite - 23-12-2017 Ian Greaves, Mick Buxton and Wagbo, for their theories on promotion and how they would have improved each others teams and from my time in Canada, Terry Fox. |
