If .... - bluepooch - 11-12-2017 ....we take the form of our last 8 league games into the next 25 we could actually scrape into the play offs .Barmy isn't it . RE: If .... - spireitematt - 11-12-2017 Don't talk about playoffs, we need to take each game as it comes and if we end up in the playoffs we end up in them. RE: If .... - Devongone - 12-12-2017 A couple of weeks back I produced final league tables based on the current performance of teams. Barnet ended up adding almost no points to their current score and both Port Vale and Forest Green reached the play-offs. Since then both Port Vale and Forest Green have both won and lost games, so I suspect if I repeated the exercise they'd be lower down the table. We've continued upwards but we are going to lose and that changes the model radically. Currently Exeter are on course to finish way down the table, but a couple of wins will change that radically too. If we reached the play offs we'd certainly lose our manager, Rowley and Dennis too ......... Luckily there are so many vagaries that can take their toll on relatively small squads I don't think the play-off picture will be entering our pretty little heads by mid-January. Personally I still can't see how Jack is stringing these results together with this squad. We have neither pace, nor power and as a bonus no goalkeeper either ....... and now we are reaching the point where the manager who has instilled belief into the team of former misfits is hopefully going to try to integrate new and better players, whilst preserving the same spirit. If Jack got us to the play-offs I'd know who ought to be Arsene Wenger's replacement at Arsenal. 22nd will do for me big-time. Anything better would be a joy. RE: If .... - bluepooch - 13-12-2017 If Jack gets us to the play offs should be given the Freedom of the Town if there is such an honour .Yes youre right Dev we almost certainly would lose him under his current contract but thats why i've been saying give him anything he wants personally to make it as difficult and costly as possible for anyone to come in for him.If we cross his palms with silver he would find it difficult to turn down .Its a gamble worth taking . RE: If .... - Devongone - 14-12-2017 I'm sorry Pooch but I don't think there's anything we could give him. If he did as well as you hope, with his intelligence and easy media presence, he should be looking as high as an Arsenal in his career. In statistical terms he is disadvantaged as a manager, but in an age of Meghan in the "Royle" family that could become such an advantage for him. But first he has to keep winning and then they'll notice what he's saying. |
