The Curse of West Brom - Sacked Managers - Stairs - 18-10-2017

It's happened and been discussed often enough and so here is the thread to record it and maybe add to in future months.

According to the general opinion this has been the recent casualty list - but feel free to add to this.

  • Chris Hughton, West Brom 3-1 Newcastle, December 2010
  • Mick McCarthy, Wolves 1-5 West Brom, February 2012
  • Andre Villas-Boas, West Brom 1-0 Chelsea, March 3 2012
  • Roberto Di Matteo, West Brom 2-1 Chelsea, November 17 2012
  • Roberto Mancini, Manchester City 1-0 West Brom, May 7 2013
  • Paolo Di Canio, West Brom 3-0 Sunderland, September 21 2013
  • Chris Hughton, Norwich 0-1 West Brom, April 2014
  • Craig Shakespear Leicester 1-1 West Brom, October 16 2017

John Gregory after losing 5-0 when he managed QPR
Sure Hughton got sacked after losing to WBA as Newcastle manager as well ?

I thought the SAF one was harsh. But just grabbed it from the Mirror article. Obviously not a source of the truth!

Yeah I'm pretty sure we got Hughton sacked twice. And John Gregory was missing from the list.

I bet Koeman is preying that Everton's form improves before we play them on Boxing Day!

The insanely obvious one (that I can't believe no one's pointed out) is Mick McCarthy, February 2012.

have we managed to get more managers the sack
than we have won games this year?

Actually, I thought ‘Mad Mick’ McCarthy was a decent alright bloke who was unfortunate enough to be employed by the Dingles. Plus, I bet he makes a fair brew of Yorkshire tea.
