Colchester Tonight - Dancingwilldoit - 12-09-2017 Is anybody honestly looking forward to this one? I have never been so disillusioned so early in a season before and we have had some crap starts that I can remember. I honestly couldn't give a toss what happens tonight. I do worry though that we actually get a result and prolong the agony even longer. RE: Colchester Tonight - Devongone - 12-09-2017 Well obviously GC will drop Briggs as he has most incentive to prove Colchester wrong by starring against them. Yet again the fixture computer has produced a gem of a night game. Why couldn't it have been held in Pyongyang? I have been largely disillusioned since we decided to ditch Danny at a point we were on the slide and replaced him with a man who quickly proved he had no idea what to do about it. I expected this season. I expected to be bottom! I didn't quite expect to be facing the future with such an incoherent squad. I still don't think we were fair to GC employing him when we did - somebody should have had the wisdom he lacked. I think we gave him such a bad job we were almost duty-bound to let him start this season. I was surprised he didn't even seem to have a plan for the friendlies and seemed to start the season having learned nothing from them. He had one uncharacteristic flash of promise against Donny and that was it. His sheer pig-headedness has shocked even me! Could we win tonight? Well some idiot on Bob's Board thinks there's no doubt we have a lot of good players. I suppose if someone finds them and they miraculously combine together, avoid conceding early, can forget all the tactical babble from GC about how hard some systems are to learn to play ....... maybe we could even win. So far GC has only won one match off his own bat. At Swindon we won with our only shot in the last minute after they missed 348 open goals, and we only allowed Port Vale to beat themselves which is what they've been setting up for ..... well for about 18 months now. So GC is overdue a real win. Has anyone asked GC what is so hard about 3 at the back ..... and if it is that hard why he keeps returning to it? I don't think any football system should be that difficult! I was the worst manager any football team could have and I got a team of young lads playing 1-5-4 when no-one in England played that way. I just told them how it was supposed to work and they went out and did it. And several of them weren't great players. Fckninell how would they get on building a rocket or writing a novel? It's a game of football. There are only ten players to move around. And they even have some skills and understand the game themselves, they've been playing since they were seven! OH PLEASE RESIGN YOU KEN-FACED DOLT, DO YOUR BIT TOWARDS SAVING MY TEAM! Then all we've got to do is find a way to recover our football club from the thieves and squatters who've turned it into a shambles. Did we ring 999? Yeah? We've been on hold for several years now? Oh! RE: Colchester Tonight - bluepooch - 12-09-2017 Im excited in a perverse sort of way because I know things are coming to a head and we either get a positive result which is a sign that there is hope for GC yet or we lose, he leaves and a new chapter begins . RE: Colchester Tonight - spireitematt - 12-09-2017 The line-up will probably be picked by this. ![]() RE: Colchester Tonight - Devongone - 13-09-2017 Poor old Pooch, just when you want any result, win or lose you get a draw. Life! RE: Colchester Tonight - bluepooch - 14-09-2017 It just means we move on to another pressure game for GC on Sat and the stakes are high again .Lose and he almost certainly loses his job, Win and we jump up the table and its two undefeated ,a rare thing for GC .However a draw leaves us in limbo yet again although GC knows we cant keep drawing either. RE: Colchester Tonight - Devongone - 15-09-2017 You see you are even optimistic about us losing more time in appointing a new manager Pooch, you are unstoppable. They should appoint you. The team would just win. They wouldn't for a minute think this is all going tits up again. |
