St Johnstone v Hibs: Sat 9 Sept, KO 3.00pm - 0762 - 04-09-2017

This match will present a good challenge for Hibs v a Saints' team that is currently playing well. I'd expect Lenny to 'take a chance' in fielding a misfiring Swanny v his previous footie club and see how he performs. Swanny really needs to 'find form' and why not v Saint Johnstone! Darren Mac will prob 'drop out' in defence and Lenny will likely stick with a similar line up that ended the Dundee match.

Gotta disagree wi you 0762 I hope slivka keeps his place Danny Swanson is not playing well just now against Hamilton I don't think he found a hibs player all day. I just feel if he was to play on sat and has another bad game the saints fans will heckle him and he will get more frustrated and maybe do something daft.
I'm not saying he's a bad player just think he's on a downer just now he's trying to hard to get that first goal for hibs he had the chance with the pen v Arbroath and Skyed it.

Only my thoughts I might be wrong he might play and bag a hat trick

Yep! I must say I'm a Slivka fan but view Swanny's position as one where he has a good knowledge of Saint Johnstone and how to sucker them. He could possibly 'take off' from this game onwards but, as commented in my OP and your thread, he has been 'mince' and is definitely a better player than the one we are currently observing.

According to EEN Sport Swanny and Boyly will return in this match. We shall see if that is the case and if Boyly has still retained his great early season form which would be welcome v Saint Johnstone.

I would definitely be thinking about starting barker again, I think he just needs games the talent is there.

Swanson and boyle i would expect to see on the bench.

This will be a real test for the side, saint johnstone are a very tough, strong, capable side. As celtic found last week.

Lenny signs up to a new 3 year contract up to 2020. Hopefully this announcement will lift the players towards a notable victory on Saturday.

Good stuff! And shows how the club is moving forward as one.

Lennons happy at hibs, and the board are happy with lennon. There is a feeling of unity through the club just now that I cant remember for a long time.

RE: St Johnstone v Hibs: Sat 9 Sept, KO 3.00pm - 0762 - 08-09-2017

Yep! Unlike Lenny's previous club, Bolton, the Hibs board has brokered a decent cash injection to back the manager in his quest to push towards improving Hibs player squad and subsequently having a reasonably successful footie season. I don't think he would've stayed at ER if that provision had not been agreed.

Early team news suggests boyle won't make it,and mcgregor and fontaine both have knee and ankle problems that will likely require surgery at some stage. Slivka has had a hard few games in a short spell so maybe bench for him. Im expecting changes.

I think we might rest murray who looked a bit tired last week at times, and go narrow early doors

Rocky

gray
hanlon
ambrose
stevo

bartley
mcginn
whittaker
barker
mcgeough

stokes

swanson, murray, porteous and slivka on the bench.

Tough game ahead. We will need to watch o'halloran especially. A win would be great, but i'd venture getting a point for this wouldnt be too bad a result.

I'll predict a narrow 0-1 or 1-2 win for Hibs in a closely fought game. It should be a decent game to watch and I just hope Lady Luck favours us in a match that I suspect will produce few scoring opps.
