The international break - Lord Snooty - 20-03-2017

Just a thread to cover owt that happens before our next match at home to the Brewers on April Fools Day. We do of course, have a number of players away on international duty ourselves. Mooy, Kachunga, Ward, Stankovic and Brown have all been called up, leaving the rest to sort out the ruins of Friday night in Bristol.

During this period there will be a couple of games going on for England. The first one, should be interesting for the lads at Canalside, as it's an England v Germany match. Who will have the top bants on Thursday morning?

Heart says England, head says Germany.
Looking forward to this one, a visit to one of the most iconic stadiums in Europe. Unfortunately the Yellow wall will be all seater for this game and thus reducing the capacity down to a little over 65000 so not quite the experience we would prefer but I bet the place is still rocking...well hopefully 4K will be.

Izzy Brown has been ruled out of the u21 match because of the knee injury picked up at Bristol.

good, no point him doing further damage to it. mooy should pull out too. in football now, league is bigger than international, like it or not

Club or country? Club every time.

RE: The international break - WakeyTerrier - 20-03-2017

Both equal for me

RE: The international break - EastLondonTerrier - 20-03-2017

I'm club when international games are pointless like friendlies against San Marino or some garbage. Country as much as the next guy. Apathy has set in though particularly after the last shitshow at a major tourny.

Always used to love watching England matches and the World Cups, but now...................nah! Dodgy

RE: The international break - jjamez - 21-03-2017

the pride in representing your country isnt as profound as it used to be, look at the players singing the anthem, half of them dont even know the words! add to that that caps are handed out willy nilly just to fend off other countries or because the game is against a minor nation. same can be said about other sports too.

players pick club over country as thats where the money is, 100k playing for a club plus other bonuses or a standard match fee that gets donated to charity on most occasions
