This news just released and Yogi not quite getting a job closer to home but it's not as far away as Inverness!

Another shout of ' jobs for the boys' imho. Tried and tested manager in Scottish football but ultimately, a failure. That's what, IMO, makes the Cathro appointment just that wee bit different. He's not part of the establishment, but the establishment of footy critics, allegedly in the know, are the very ones who want to put the boot into the new guy because he ain't done anything in the game. Think Cathro might just prove them wrong

Agreed IJ.........Cathro as yet has not had much time and feel Sunday may be a watershed moment for him. After the last 2 results a positive day on Sunday will help him no end especially with the fans.
Yogi I have never rated that highly as a manager....always talks a good game

The whole point NH is regarding Cathro is that the establishment, ie- the media, Glasgow press and so called football experts and so called pundits have their opinion on the game as to how it should be played. All of a sudden, a new kid appears on the scene with different ideas and, holy shit, he's immature, canny hold a decent press conference etc- well , honestly, I think the Cathro chap,might just be the kick up the erse that Scottish football requires

I was never a great fan of Yogi either but I perceive that he did a lotta good work at 'lesser footie clubs' with less pressure to succeed and was definitely a decent manager in bringing on promising young players. I could never classify him as a total failure TBF!

I would have took him back,i think he did a great job with ICT and regularly had them punching above their weight.

Wouldn't class him as a total failure ( don't think I said that TBF) but feel 0762 hit the nail on the head by saying pressure at certain clubs may be too much for him.....none more so than us with his connections at ER etc. In theory he should be OK at Raith and good luck to him. ( except when they play us of course!)

As i said before - if we can get winning through february and our game in hand v st mirren on the 1st of march it may well be enough. dundee utd have some tough games ahead and i can see them dropping more points.
