For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - Dancingwilldoit - 04-02-2017 Will put it on ebay, you're going to need it Blue. Come back Danny all is forgiven. Seriously though that was shite. Not 1 shot on target, everybody in the box for corners against 10 men - why not just invite them in for a coffee. Get the big men up for a corner then take it short and end up going backwards ???? As for the new signings, well let me think ............... mmmm No, cant think of anything positive so wont say anything. Possession is only good if you do something with it and we didn't. It doesn't bode well. To say we have had 2 weeks without a game to give the manager chance to get to know the players, it didn't show. It looked as though we had never played together at times, no or little movement off the ball, no getting in their faces, no going for second balls. Totally inept for me. At least there will be a couple more local derby's next season Notts c, Mansfield, Lincoln and not Donny and Rotherham. RE: For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - spireitematt - 04-02-2017 "We totally beat them it wasn't a contest. We had 1 more extra player than they did we totally beat them. Had so much more possession it was tremendous. We had so many shots than they did no contest. We had so many more corners than they did we have the best corners there fantastic. We committed more fouls than they did we commit the best fouls. No one commits fouls like we do". RE: For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - Devongone - 05-02-2017 I feel sorry for genuine fans who turn up full of hope like Pooch. The truth is Danny has been a successful manager .... and with his squad he seemed to be going nowhere and it appeared he didn't have the resources to change things even IF he wanted to. Mr Caldwell takes over. He clearly has no resources either, so he brings in loanees on Tuesday night, signs a player Wednesday was it, and the new squad has two or three days even to know each other. As I pointed out elsewhere we exchanged over 900 senior appearances with the players we exiled to make room for newcomers who have made 52 appearances between them. And we were due to play against a manager whose known approach to escaping relegation is 0-0 0-1 away from home and at home. EVEN I MANAGED TO FORECAST THE RESULT! Dancing's right, possession only counts if you do something with it. And I'm the first to admit I don't understand pro' managers. The youngsters were enough of a change, but dropping in Dan Jones after months out is surely the manager admitting we need a miracle from somewhere. The fact he replaced him with an Angel reveals how far outside Chesterfield he is already looking for help. To me it's baffling that we wait until the dying hours of the transfer window to bring in new players, especially very young ones who are likely to be nervous and find settling down difficult. We had two weeks to get ourselves a team and have them playing together and we deliberately compressed it into two days. I can't believe any manager would think having only two days together is an advantage so I can only assume the motive was financial. What you get for our investment, or lack of it, is relegation. The only point to any of our loan players is that they bring us WINS. If they don't and I'm afraid they won't, we may as well spend the rest of this season playing the players who are ours, that means Allinson in goal, bring Raglan back from Oxford's bench, get Maguire in and so on. Must say I felt like weeping yesterday when I saw Sarcevic had scored for Plymouth. The moment he left Shrewsbury to become a free agent we should have been round his house, even if he is an odd character, cos he's a mile better player than what we've got. Omar Bogle was at Solihull when I suggested him, yesterday he came on in the Championship. If a numpty know-nothing like me can see reports of players and think he's worth a try surely a professional club with a manager, assistant/s, a Director of Football, specialist coaches and scouts can do better than we've managed so far? RE: For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - bluepooch - 05-02-2017 In my humble opinion for what its worth i though all the new recruits did well ,it was the established players like Evans,Donohue and Nolan who let the team down.Gardner was once again brilliant in that central role and should be kept there. This possession game is no good if its all done in front of the opposition .They didn't play with enough freedom for me and lacked penetration. Having said that Oldham have one of the best defences in the league and them going down to 10 men meant they were able to batten down the hatches even more .So we take it on the chin and go to Northants in the hope of some improvement ,Caldwell needs a goal but a shot on target would be a nice change. I didnt say Caldwell would improve things immediately did I ? So the willy warmer remains firmly in place until its obvious things are not going to be any better under him ,we may need to wait until the seasons finished before you all get your binoculars out . RE: For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - Dancingwilldoit - 05-02-2017 Blue, sorry but disagree re the loanees. Faupala was gash, Grimshaw was Grim, El Fitori looked half decent but died as the game went on and Brown showed a bit of promise. Disagree about Donohue and Nolan, The were not on their best but didn't let us down. The reason we lost was because our forwards did bog all to help the cause. Evans wants benching, it might wake him up a bit. Lets give Dennis a run or god forbid German who cant have deteriorated that much??. Like I said before whats the point in going down with a team of loanees who wont be here next season. Lets get our home growns in, the cant be any worse and might even surprise. RE: For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - spireitematt - 05-02-2017 This season reminds me of 2012. Loan players, Tommy out injured, struggled to win games and eventually went down end of March if i'm correct. RE: For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - bluepooch - 06-02-2017 Nolan for me is one of those players who flatters to deceive,a good looking footballer who doesnt actually do a lot in a game, his lack of pace is also a hindrance.Gardner was superb compared to Nolan. Donohue second half had bags of space on the left numerous times and did f all with the ball. I guess with the new lads I am taking into account it was their very first game at this level and they will need time to adjust .In those circumstances I thought they did well. I do agree there is a comparison to 2012 but Im hoping the youngsters and returning players can improve enough to get us out of it . Donohue second half had bags of space on the left numerous times and did f all with the ball. It's a big gamble though Pooch. We've signed young loan players who have been thrown in at the deep end. Faupala went on loan to NAC Breda in August 2016 it was meant to be for a whole season but he made 3 appearances scored 1 goal and they sent him back to Manchester City at the start of January this year. Osman Kakay has only made 1 appearance for QPR and was sent on loan last season to Livingston where he made 12 appearances. Liam Grimshaw played for Manchester United Youth team was sent on loan to Morecambe in 2014 he never made an appearance, he then was sent on loan to Motherwell in 2015 where he made 14 appearances before Preston bought him in the January transfer window in 2016. He's made 5 appearances for Preston. Reece Brown played for Birmingham City youth team made it to the first team and made 20 appearances for the first team and went on loan to Notts County during the 2014-15 season. Sadiq El Fitouri played for Manchester City youth team, they released him he went to Salford City played 1 game and then Phil Neville got him a youth contract at Manchester United and he joined us after getting released by Manchester United. It's a shame we let Armand go because I think he's the type of player we need this season, he's big, he's strong and can cause nightmares for defenders especially in the air. The problem we've had this season is we're are too light upfront there's no physicality. RE: For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - Devongone - 06-02-2017 Even we couldn't have diminished Ricky German this quickly. Even that idiot thug Morgan couldn't wipe out two years work in a couple of appearances. We have to be able to save him ...... and play him sometimes. It is easy to be harsh on our loanees - they didn't go to big clubs asking to be dropped in our shit. Faupala has been capped by France through the age groups. I think Man' City actually bought him. Kakay's last loan had promise but he's very young. Brown worries me as he seems to be progressing backwards. That might also apply to Grimshaw who did have high praise at Man Utd and now he's at the Proact on loan from Deepdale. Unfortunately these players have been through a very protected process within which even the football played is miles different in every way from Division One AND THEN THEY GET THROWN TO THE SHARKS IN A LEAGUE GAME AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS INTRODUCTION. It wouldn't surprise me that some of the regulars with them were below their own standard. It's a team game for God's sake. If several of your players are having understandable internal conniption fits on their debut don't you think that it has an effect on the rest? They're human beings after all, they'll be worried for the team, for themselves and the new lads who they want and need to succeed. You can't say play your normal game if you just deliberately made it abnormal. I tend to agree with Matt, I think we need a bit of physique up front to disrupt the opposition and hold up the ball too, that's why I once suggested signing Keiffer Moore for nothing or once even Mills from Whitehawk as a gamble. I'm also convinced one of the answers is to play Ched Evans a bit deeper ...... so he can score some goals. I think it is also time to trust Angel's injuries and see if he can organise our midfield with Gardner (if he's as new a man as Pooch thinks). I hope these young lads make a name for themselves with us, but this is sink-or-swim for them. If in two games time they aren't swimming and we haven't won it'll be time to get our own youngsters some game time, to stop wasting money and to start scouring the leagues both professional and part-time for talent we can afford without a sugar daddy. RE: For Sale - One used Willy Warmer - spireitematt - 11-02-2017 Dancing and Devon are right. We're virtually relegated now. Will Caldwell walk at the end of the season? Will we be competing in the Football League next season? |
