Sky are not biast!! - Salopbaggie - 06-10-2014 Sky do not show bias towards any club good or bad. That's is their official line ![]() To alleviate the boredom of the international week. I thought I would be sad and tot up all the games shown live on Sky from the start of the season until 1st Jan 2015. That's all they have announced so far and guess what, the figure show no bias at all. Manchester United 13 Liverpool 11 Arsenal 10 Everton 10 Manchester City 10 Chelsea 9 Queens Park Rangers 8 Tottenham Hotspur 8 Aston Villa 7 Newcastle United 7 Swansea City 7 Stoke City 6 Southampton 5 West Ham United 5 Burnley 4 Crystal Palace 4 Leicester City 4 Sunderland 4 Hull City 3 West Bromwich Albion 3 RE: Sky are not biast!! - Tom_Wba - 06-10-2014 Great stuff, i didn't want any games changing for TV over Christmas to be honest i don't care if they don't show us for the rest of the season ![]() RE: Sky are not biast!! - Beefy 1965 - 07-10-2014 I can understand the Big Boys monopolising the TV, However QPR 8 games and 7th in the list ![]() No bias at all ![]() RE: Sky are not biast!! - Dingle-Dingle - 07-10-2014 Tv channels are not biased. They reported the truth when a very underperforming Liverpool with all their injured and suspended players absolutely slaughtered those pretend wannabee`s (who were at full squad fitness) WBA without a second thought. Put royally to the sword they were. That will teach them the little upstarts. How dare they try to compete with the London or North West teams.DD ![]() ![]() RE: Sky are not biast!! - Onetruebaggie - 07-10-2014 Our first game on Sky was Burnley on the 28th September, the season kicked off on Saturday 16th August, nearly six weeks later!! Others were shown 3-4 times before our Sky debut!! WANKERS!!! I have Sky but refuse to pay for Sports as I think its a complete sham! If I had a pair of balls, I ought to cancel Sky full stop and stop funding the greed league indirectly. I love the Albion and football to a lesser extent, but I think the money in football and the exorbitant wages the players get is grossly disgusting. I think they'll come a day with football where the ordinary man says F*** it, I've had enough! Shove your Sky and football up your arse, I'm going to watch something else. Sky is the venom that has destroyed football and the anti-venom all rolled into one!! I f****** hate sky and their choices!!! But aren't man enough to lose my box unfortunately, grow a pair son and do it!! COYB RE: Sky are not biast!! - tidy - 08-10-2014 Sadly, all that clubs like the Albion are doing is treading water waiting for the enevitable relegation from Sky Sports 1,2 and 3. The only thing left to win is a play-off final in some lower league. I f****** hate sky and their choices!!! But aren't man enough to lose my box unfortunately, grow a pair son and do it!!" Couldn't agree with you more. When I lived in Wales, I ditched Sky some years ago and went back to Freeserve. Now, having moved back across Offa's Dyke I'm with Virgin Media. Expensive but, very fast broadband as part of the package. Have resisted all their attempts to get me to sign up to sky sports or BT sports. As you say there's enough money going into the greedy league already!! RE: Sky are not biast!! - Salopbaggie - 08-10-2014 Just to put the other side of the argument, I can totally see and agree the points raised above about Sky, however don't you think that it is to late now, as once the genie is out of the bottle, it is not possible to put it back. You have to remember in any auction, for anything, in this case TV rights, there is always an under bidder so if Sky were not to pay the money, there would be companies lining up such as BT, Santana and the like, to bid in their place. In fact you could argue, as this bidding for football was started many years ago when the BBC and ITV were trying to outbid each other for the rights to show domestic and international football, a battle usually won by the BBC. OK the amounts now are considerable higher, but back in those days they were only bidding pretty much for a highlights show. You could also argue that if we did not have the money here, it would just move somewhere else and our standards of football would drop as many players playing primarily in England would play overseas where their wages would be improved by TV sponsorship, English players as well as foreign players. Personally, it is giving the money to Murdoch which sticks in my claw far more than giving it to Sky. RE: Sky are not biast!! - devwakey - 08-10-2014 Former 606 poster (leedsbaggie) joining in again! The thing that really grinds my gears about this is how often Man Utd are on! Years ago they used to be the team to watch, and had all the best players and played the best football! But these days, they are so boring to watch and their standard is so poor compared to where it should be. I don't mind them showing Chelsea/City/Liverpool often, because they are the best in the league! But United for me are just such a dull team. They get treated for their recent history, which is the same treatment teams give them when playing! I hope then Albion play them next we look at it as a winnable game rather than a "ooohhh we have that big club Unite, we will be in for a hard game" RE: Sky are not biast!! - 4evaabaggie - 12-10-2014 Refuse to sign up to sky sports, BT Sports and all those others, last season Liverpool were live 28 times we managed 9 even the vile were shown 18 times ............. the little London clubs like Wet sham, Palace and Qpr get more coverage than we do, until the media have a more balanced view and coverage I will not be signing up ..... |
