£20 for an adult ticket v Bonnyrigg Rose? - 0762 - 01-01-2017

Nowt against the Midlothian footie club but IMO that is 'way off the mark' in proper/fair ticket pricing!! Thumb down

Not sure if its the same in Scotland, but in England because the revenue is split between teams in cup games the ticket prices have to be agreed between both teams. I remember a game we played against a lower league side a few years ago and they wouldn't allow us to put the tickets out at 10 pounds, they figured a higher price would net them more revenue even if it meant a lower crowd number.

I don't mind the pricing if it means Bonnyrigg net more from the game. I'm sure they had some say in the pricing of the tickets. Will be interesting to see how much interest there is from the cabbage support.

I don't believe that is the optimum price to maximise their revenue anyway. If it had been say Forfar or Annan Athletic, the same view applies and set the price accordingly to match the level of game that will be offered at Tynecastle!

Don't disagree but I asume Bonnyrigg have looked at the attendances and figured that a cheap deal won't increase the attendance enough based on how many will turn up either way. 6000 at 20 quid is better for them than 10000 at 10 quid, not sure of your crowd levels but they will have done some calculations to decide.

I reckon the crowd will be around 12000 taking reports Bonnyrigg will bring around 5000 and I'm looking at hibs selling around 7000/8000.

Which will be decent return for Bonnyrigg

Yes, if Bonnyrigg are sure they will bring 5000 fans I am sure they think it will be 5000 whether its 10 or 20 quid, so keeping prices higher should pay off for them!! Great turnout by them if thats what they take, I just always feel its a shame that more of them don't turn up more regularly!

RE: £20 for an adult ticket v Bonnyrigg Rose? - 0762 - 02-01-2017

If Bonnyrigg bring in 5k fans they'll be doing well. Also there's no doubt many of those fans will be Cabbage fans! I think Hibs will draw about 3k-4k fans and I certainly won't be attending - as said previously, it's all based on the level of opponent in such a cup tie and it's not attractive enough esp at that ticket price!

Surely if they'd made it a reasonable price, seeing as Hearts don't play til the day after, they could've filled the ground with Jambos supporting Bonnyrigg hoping to see Hibs get humiliated.
How many neutrals will bother to turn up at £20?
