Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 29-11-2016 A Friday night match and what an opportune moment for Hibs to 'stamp their authority' on this league and esp v any other title contender! It's being televised on BT Sport but I'll try to drive north to join thousands of other away Hibees and attend this match because of it's importance. We're top of the league by 3 pts and a superior GD - a good time to dampen United's aspirations! However, Lenny has some midfield issues to deal with. The McGinn injury? I think Dylan's return will cover that prob! Fyvie's possible omission could pose a problem but Bartley could well resolve it with defensive mid cover. Lenny's line up? I'd opt for this one:- Rocky Gray McGregor Hanlon Stevo Bartley Boyle Shinnie McGeouch Graham Holt/Cummings Again here's hoping the ref is decent and officiates an incident free match. C'mon Hibs! GGTTH RE: Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 29-11-2016 Looking forward to this. If we defend like we can then I'm confident we can take all 3 pts, although by no manner of means would a draw be a bad result either. Team will be as 0762 lays out,but I don't think Cummings will start. RE: Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 01-12-2016 It looks like Stanton is being seriously considered for a mid role by Lenny and I think that will come as a big surprise to many Hibs fans. Hibs also bringing over 3k Hibees up to Tannadice with them for this match!! Should be a great atmosphere and here's hoping Hibs 'deliver the goods' in style! ![]() RE: Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 01-12-2016 If so then boyle will go up front with graham or holt. RE: Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 02-12-2016 Lennon, meanwhile, has dismissed United counterpart Ray McKinnon’s theory that Hibs could crumble under the weight of expectation of trying to achieve promotion back to the top flight at the third time of asking.Hibs drew 1-1 with United at Easter Road in October and have won four of their last five league matches.Lennon added: “I’ve seen no evidence of that so far and I don’t know what he means by saying we could crumble. You either play well or you don’t, you either win or you don’t. If anything the pressure is on Dundee United. If they lose the game on Friday, where do they go? They’re six points behind chasing us.“If they win, they’re still behind us so all the pressure is on them really. We’re fine. I’ve not seen any evidence of a lack of mentality creeping in.”With a crowd in excess of 11,000 expected at Tannadice for the televised encounter, Lennon added: “And being at home, they’ll have a big crowd for the first time in a while and it will be interesting to see how they handle it.“It’s been built up to be a big game but we’re only at the beginning of December, it’s not going to finalise or settle anything. You’ve got two teams who are in form that are first and second. In the context of the Championship it’s a big game but I don’t think the result will have any bearing on the outcome.“What it will do is give us a chance to extend our lead at the top of the table. If we lose the game we’ll still be top of the table.” Read more at: http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/hibernian/hibs-boss-makes-ambitious-moves-to-solve-midfield-crisis-1-4306694 Nicely done with the mindgames neil ![]() ![]() RE: Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - Paigntonhibby - 02-12-2016 Quietly confident. Even a draw widnae be a bad result all things considered. RE: Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 02-12-2016 Really disappointing result, thought we were the better side and played a lot of good football. The penalty miss didn't help thats for sure, but i didn't think utd threatened us much outside of a couple of long range hits. Their penalty was on the soft side i thought but i'd need to see it again. The biggest problem tonight was that boyle and holt just didn't get into the game, and cummings added little when he came on. Back to the drawing board for lenny....he didnae look happy coming off there, think some arses are about to be kicked. RE: Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 03-12-2016 Hibs by far the better side tonight! Boyle had a nightmare match IMO and why was he allowed to get anywhere near that pk??? Holt was given the task and you could see him lambasting Boyle after missing that vital pen that would've set us up nicely for the later stages of this match. I also question our captain David Gray not intervening in who takes it anyway because Boyle was not that player and he confirmed his nightmare with a lame pass back to the United goalie!! As for United's pk, it looked like Fonts had slipped his foot in sideways to play the ball and he played it with no deliberation to bring down Murray! I thought ref Bobby Madden had a reasonable performance but 'got it wrong'. We should be 12-15 pts ahead of United and, for various reasons (some of them extremely unfair!!), we're not! However, no need to panic! Hibs are clearly a better side than United, we are still 'top of the pile', and must try to consolidate that lead. Their celebrations said it all for me TBF and they will hit a crisis at some point. Our next fixture is a home game v the Sons and we must bounce back immediately from this 'blatant robbery' of a match result tonight! I don't rate United that highly at all as you can gather and I don't think they are that good to win a league but our players have still gotta earn that right by 'doing the biz' and continually winning matches! GGTTH RE: Dundee Utd v Hibs, Fri 2 Dec, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 03-12-2016 yeah, holt seemed to lose the plot totally after the pk. I noticed him giving boyle a right row, then went on to nearly kill willo flood ![]() ![]() Lennon confirmed afters that boyle was designated pk taker. He seemed pretty 'bullish' that we would bounce back as well. I still think we could use a bit more width and pace up front and hopefully that will come about in january. Hibs still to hit their usual crisis point or not?. All to play for now and explain please , how come it was robbery? |
