Alex Cropley's autobiography just out for Xmas! - 0762 - 17-11-2016 http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/6976 This could be an interesting 'read' from an ex Turnbull Tornado who prematurely left Hibs and couldn't resist the 'bright lights of London' and headed for Highbury but didn't quite make it with Arsenal or Scotland in the way that many Hibs fans assumed he would succeed. A lotta Hibs fans wouldn't be too familiar with Ecky and his early rise to stardom with Eddie T's Tornadoes but it could be a fairly interesting book re a period in Hibs history in which they won trophies but they should've won more than that incl the Holy Grail!! RE: Alex Cropley's autobiography just out for Xmas! - HerefordBull - 17-11-2016 Aye, remember him at Hibs when at University in Edinburgh in the early 70's and then a few years later ( after his Arsenal days) when still watching Villa back in Birmingham. Never fully realised his potential due to injuries, even so an excellent player. Always a favourite at Villa and remember him in the 1977 League Cup win over Everton after 2 replays, I think ?( remember trudging up to Sheffield on a week night for one of them) Unfortunately just after that win he fractured his leg again. As you say , it should be an interesting read. I remember AC leaving Villa by which time we had just got Des Bremner from Hibs. GGTTH |
