Town v Birmingham Match Thread - WakeyTerrier - 03-11-2016

John Smiths Stadium Saturday 5th November 2016

Let's start this match thread on a POSITIVE note. It's November 5th or at least it will be come the day of the match and Huddersfield Town are 3rd in the Championship! Now at the start of the season we would all have taken that position. OK we've suffered a blip or two in recent weeks and to coin a phrase used by the Beesotted Brentford Twitter account "it looks like the wheels on the Wagner Revolution bus have fallen off" Well folks I'm here to tell you that they haven't fallen off, we just had to take them back into the garage for a bit of wheel balancing after a couple of dodgy journeys away from home in the past month
Ok last week at Fulham was pretty poor but sometimes these things happen, I mean who thought Norwich would get spanked by the same score line at Brighton?
Yes the Wagner Revolution continues this weekend with a home game against Birmingham City, Birmingham is regarded as the 2nd City of England and as it Stands now BCFC are the 2nd team in the City behind West Brom, with Aston Vanilla bring up the rear. I'll be honest BCFC have slipped under my radar so far this season, the only times I've seen and noticed how they've got on is when they've been on the old SkyBox so that's a defeat at Burton and a home draw against Vanilla which happened to be last weekend. Despite the indifferent start Birmingham sit just outside the Play offs in 7th spot(only Goal difference keeps them out) and a mere 4points behind us so this won't be easy

Last time out(line ups) &. team news

Expect at least one change for the Terriers as Hogg returns from a one match ban to hopefully add some steel to our midfield

Club connections.

Nico Vasen,Ian Bennett,Paul Barnes,Simon Charlton and Chris Marden,Lee Clarke and Fat Boy Brucie.

Quite a few connections really but probably more so on the management front, Clarke and Bruce both started off well at Town and then faded. Clarke had a never ending massive budget for League 1 but couldn't quite get us over the line and has since lugged his Bingo selection machine to far flung places like Birmingham,Blackpool and now Kilmarnock. Meanwhile Fat boy Brucie who was given the El Bow by Rubbery has been on and off the merry go round several times having taken in stops at Sheff Utd(where he eventually resigned) Town(sacked) Wigan(resigned) Palace(resigned) Brum (Resigned) Wigan (resigned) Sunderland (sacked) Hull (resigned) and now Aston Vanilla where he will shortly be either resigning or be sacked.

Nice one, Wakey.
Another club connection of course, is Frank Worthington. I wonder if he'll be wheeled out at half time or not, given his condition.

RE: Town v Birmingham Match Thread - EastLondonTerrier - 03-11-2016

Bunn, Hudson/Schindler, Lowe & Deano I would expect to lose their places. Quality thread Wakey as always. Can see Schindler & The Hef paired together again. VLP back in.

RE: Town v Birmingham Match Thread - jjamez - 03-11-2016

Vaughan and edgar both played for brum. As has jukevitch and lee novak.

RE: Town v Birmingham Match Thread - Lord Snooty - 03-11-2016

Bunn out. Picked up hamstring injury. Palmer also doubtful.

RE: Town v Birmingham Match Thread - theo_luddite - 04-11-2016

Let's see. We've won 3 and lost 3 of our last six. Brentfud, have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2 of their last 6. So if our wheels have fallen off, when do Brentfud (playing Fulham on the telly just now) plan on fitting theirs? Answers on a fiver to the nearest Quikfit fitter, or me).

And they are currently 1-0 down. Whistle

And oh yeh, nice thread Wakey as ever Big Grin

RE: Town v Birmingham Match Thread - theo_luddite - 04-11-2016
