OK, let's lighten up - it's puzzle time! - Baggievicar - 26-10-2016 So we're all moping and moaning about the state of posting on the site. Here's your challenge. I'll give it 2 or 3 goes to see if anyone can be bothered, and if not then it doesn't matter. You have to find a way, in 4 steps, to link 2 people whose names I'll give you. One will be football-related, just to justify it being on here. For instance - actress Michelle Dockery to Rickie Lambert (OK, vaguely football-related) in 4 steps. That would be: MD is in Downton Abbey Downton Abbey has a butler Lambert and Butler is a kind of cigarette there we are - Rickie Lambert! Just post your ideas on the thread. You can have more than one go if you want. The winner each time - if anyone comes up with the same steps as me, or just something that's either really funny or pure genius, I'll send you a very cheap and stupid prize if you entrust your address via PM when I ask (and I promise you won't end up with the local church visiting team on the doorstep). Judge's decision is final. SO, this week - ideas need to be on the thread by kick-off against Citeh - Gary Lineker to Taylor Swift, in 4 steps. If anyone can be arsed, enjoy it. RE: OK, let's lighten up - it's puzzle time! - Dingle-Dingle - 26-10-2016 Lineker hosts MOTD. Bryant and Day make matches. A perfect match would be. Me and Taylor Swift. 'Nuff said. RE: OK, let's lighten up - it's puzzle time! - BaggieSteve - 27-10-2016 1. Gary Lineker's nickname is Big Ears 2. Big Ears best friend is Noddy 3. Noddy is the first name (well, nearly) of the lead singer of Slade, Noddy Holder 4. Holder is what Dingle Dingle would like to do to Taylor Swift (censored, obviously) RE: OK, let's lighten up - it's puzzle time! - Baggievicar - 29-10-2016 Well, this is going like an Exeter hotel on fire. Never mind - here, for all who are agog to know, are the crucial steps from Gary L to Taylor S: Gary Lineker advertised crisps Crisp was beaten on the line by Red Rum in the 1973 Grand National National Velvet was a film about the Grand National, starring Elizabeth Taylor ladies and gentleman...Taylor Swift Glad you all enjoyed it. Cliff Richard to Charlie Adam. Easy peasy (actually this one is slightly tortuous even by my standards, but never mind). Roll up, roll up... But you only have until midnight on Thursday, because I'm going on holiday on Friday morning. RE: OK, let's lighten up - it's puzzle time! - drewks - 30-10-2016 Vic - I am truly amazed. I would like to thank everyone, but mostly my agent, my parents, my fans, but mostly Tony Pulis, for this award. I am humbled. Please everybody - applaud my humility when I donate my prize to the charity of your choice ![]() ![]() |
