Thatcher voted the worst UK PM in the past 100 years! - 0762 - 18-10-2016 http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/margaret-thatcher-named-worst-prime-minister-in-100-years/ar-AAj6dvS?li=AAdeCd7&ocid=spartandhp As a Scot who lived through the worst side of Thatcher's devastating policies on working communities, I'm not surprised by this HWA vote and no surprise to see David Cameron (incidentally a Thatcher admirer as well as the current PM May!) placed in 2nd place. I can see why Neville Chamberlain was third (the 'soft centre' appeasing PM who hoped Hitler would just 'toe the line' and all would be well! An idiot!) but I thought Bliar had every right to take that 3rd spot based on his hidden collusion in destroying the lives of 100s of thousands of people by brokering the 'illegal' Iraq war with Dod Bush junior! ![]() RE: Thatcher voted the worst UK PM in the past 100 years! - St Charles Owl - 19-10-2016 Of course another way of looking at it is that as she got 24% of the vote, 76% of the votes for worst PM went to PMs other than Thatcher!! ![]() RE: Thatcher voted the worst UK PM in the past 100 years! - hibeejim21 - 19-10-2016 I loved a journo's recent description of Cameron. One of the observations that always struck me about Thatcher was her outward display of her 'Christian values' - the regular Sunday church goer, a C of E follower, but an absolute hypocrite with a contemptuous way of applying such a 'political disguise'. Tony Bliar was slightly different in using this kinda ploy when he suddenly applied to become a Roman Catholic years after his collusive and destructive involvement in the Iraq war. Was there an element of guilt attached to this contrite transfer of religious belief? I believe there was poss a tinge of guilt but Bliar has this devious trait about him and even his appointment as the Middle East Peace Envoy was an insult to many people in this country and indeed in Iraq and other regions of the Middle East that have been badly affected as a direct result of Bliar's flawed politics!! |
