Going on what we know from last season to avoid the dreaded playoffs we will have to get another 15 pts to our total although the Wolves game was classed as a friendly game so maybe we would have had an extra 3pts there should we had put a fully fit up for it team out ? so im saying we won that making it 12 pts extra needed
Heres how we did against last years championship teams without the promoted and relegated teams in no particualr order and the new teams that have been promted and relegated
Fulham double
although fulham have been seriously shit this an away win at there place was no small feet can we double them again ? i doubt it ill go for 4pts this season Birmingham double
i cant see it this time around not at there place anyway as that tosspot of a manager is quite a good manager and they will be better than last season and pushing for the playoffs ! Another 4pts at best 
Brentford double
we are basically there bogey team although on there day they have played us off the park and won now and then ? again 4pts here would be fair Forest double
a win at the city ground is very rare for us and weve just played them of the park two sesons on the trot there so it might be a few seasons in coming again ? 4pts for me would be acceptable here Huddersfield double
any result that draggs in points against our bogey team is a bonus a double was fantastic but it wont be so easy this term as a realy believe that the football there manager is trying to intsall will have them on the brink of the playoffs 4pts this time might be the best we can do Wolves double
we would have won that last game easy should we have played a team they realy are in dire straits or should i say a mental jacket is holding them back 
if he stays on hopefully we will get them before he gets the chop at xmas 6pts is a must again this term So those where the teams which we took a maximum points total off 6 teams at 36 pts is enough to keep you up
but nowhere near enough if you want to win the league Burnley doubled 9 teams so this is the bar we must aim for although Burnley didnt win untill there fourth game and where very sketchy untill after xmas then they were flawless and didnt lose untill the end of the season what an unbeaten run that nobody seems to have caught on ? they only lost to Arsenal in the cup all feffing year Derby 2pts
a realy good 2pts and few goals didnt mean boring games ? very unlucky not to take 3pts at there place and like the playoff we showed here we dont handle pressure very well . personally i blame the captain for this as it was at times like this in the past when pearson and lyons made a difference over purse and loomens who has now become a losing captain at wembley for the second time in his carear 
i dont expect nothing this time around at there place as Pearson will sort this lot out no problems 3pts possible at home maybe ?QPR 2pts
to say how shit Qpr where last season is an understatement what a waste of points and it wont be so easy this time as Hasslebank has but a bit of fight back into this team ! 4pts would be great Brighton 2pts a good 2pts aswell
although we now know what is needed to beat this good team at hillsborough ! yep fans hopefully we will get them at the start of the season and the crowd will push us on for 3pts and not on a tuesday night in november when the crowd cant afford to go in the pissing down rain ill take 3pts this time around and be happy Reading 4pts in all sorts of problems this lot last season and we gifted them a point at there place with sloppy defending
and its not looking any different next season we need to take 6pts this time "A Huevo " Cardiff 4pts again sloppy defending or should i say sleeping cost us points at there place
in the end we played them off the park for one and a half games 6pts this term is what we will get Blackburn 4pts see the last two comments sloppy defending in both games although thankfully Blackburn and the premiership days are well and truly over
6pts this term is a must Leeds 4pts was fair a yorkshire derby away at the start of the season is only ever going to be 50-50 it could go either way this term with monk as there manager and massimo as our agent
4pts again would be great Rotherham 3pts colin did us again carlos has to learn from these battles
stubbs will be meat and drink to carlos or should i say putting the meat on the fire 
6pts and only 6pts is acceptable 
Preston cheating north end
we should have had 4pts but themaclad secretly paid the ref and the rest is history again 6pts is a must if we have bigger plans Ipswich 1pt stroke Barnsley mick who like colin pissed on the meat before putting it on the fire
Ipswich will be in the playoffs this term or big mick will be getting the Barnsley chop 3pts would do me either way That concludes the teams from last term and my points total which is very optamistic gives us 73pts with again 6 doubles in there
Moving on to the newly promoted teams
Wigan very hard to say this one and its never been an easy game at there ground
id snatch your hand of if you give me 4pts now although im saying it will be 3pts Burton well that horrible little xxxx has finally got a team out of the pub league
he will be a right pain in the asre and both games could go either way but if we realy are massive then we will take 6pts although i see 3pts more likely Barnsley the only Yorkshire team we have luck against but they have changed the kick and run antics and now play good football 4pts would be great but i only see 1pts this time
That for me adds another 7pts to the 73 pts making us 80pts
Meaning a win against Norwich Newcastle or villa would have us back in the promised land This thread was made due to the fact there is nothing to debate and im not wasting my breath on England and the circus act that will follow
it would be interesting to hear from all wednesday posters and not just the magnificent 7

Depends on who we can bring in for starters. Still think the playoffs will be the way we gain promotion unless the players we bring in are of high quality and hit the ground running.

as burnley showed us you dont have to hit the ground running ! you have to have at least 4 months on fire and its always better to have the last 4 months than the first and more so in our case we could xxxx a 40 point lead up if we had too !!!

So much next year will depend on how Villa and Newcastle adapt to the Championship. They both need a bunch of players to be able to compete in the Championship, they obviously have the money to get them in but will they gel as a team quickly?? 90 points has to be the target, so just about a 2 points per game average, we I think need to hit this from the start this season, we cannot allow the top teams to get away from us like we did last season.

Burnley where 2pts below us when we played out a balless draw ? as it states above i dont think it matters about Newcastle Norwich or villa ? we need to concentrate on taking points of the smaller teams !!

Brighton got 15 points more than us & didn't get automatic promotion so we need to be looking for an extra 20 points.

That's the problem, we could've done it this season when you total up the points pissed away.
Either way 85-90pts is at least what we need to be aiming for if we want to go up next season. We had a good home record but were quite poor on the road.
Several quality players, a improved away record and we can do a 'Boro.
