New Technical Director Appointed - drewks - 29-04-2016

Nick Hammond, from Reading.
Apparently one responsibility is to oversea transfers....anyone have any ideas about what else this position does, and any ideas about NH? I vaguely remember him as a GK for Swindon but that's about it Confused

Thanks for posting, Drewks. Is this the Dan Ashworth role or is that someone else?

Really hoping Pulis gets the hump and buggers off because the thought of playing 4 centre backs next season makes me want to
slash my wrists.

Hope he can improve things. Since Dan the Man went to the FA our recruitment has been poor (except for Fletcher and Evans)
Time will only tell! Thumb up

RE: New Technical Director Appointed - Tibby Baggie - 30-04-2016

Heard nothing but good things about this bloke and it's a timely appointment as we've got plenty of work to do over the summer.

Time will only tell if he can go on to become our new Dan Ashworth, but you can safely say he'll do a better job than Garlick. No offence meant to Garlick as he probably knows how to write the most watertight of contracts going with his legal background, but he didn't have the first clue about managing a scouting network.

It also makes for intriguing debate regarding a potential new manager as essentially it means we're reverting back to our previous setup, and if Pulis did get the hump, which manager that would be a genuine improvement would want to work in a setup where he doesn't always get to choose which players are signed 100% of the time?
