Morton v Hibs - 23/04/16 - ritchiebaby - 20-04-2016

We've no time to rest on our laurels after tonight's victory and we move on to Cappielow on Saturday for yet another vital game in Hibs' season.

It almost seems as though Denny Johnstone is Morton's only goalscorer with 14 goals - next best is 4. The last time Morton scored and he didn't was on 27 February, so we need to keep him quiet. During that spell Morton scored 11 goals and he got 6 of them as Morton won 3, lost 3 and drew 2. In mid-season, Morton had a great little spell, even threatening to vie for the 4th play-off spot, but they have slipped back slightly.

There is a little matter of the 3-goal defeat at Easter Road to avenge and Hibs will have to be on their guard to avoid another bad result. It's one thing to pick up your fair share of points against Rangers and Falkirk, but the trick is to dominate and defeat the teams below us in the league.

GGTTH

I think we should do a Falkirk on Denny Johnstone and cynically 'kick him off the park' because we're no taking prisoners any more! Wink
I'd luv to see a long overdue 'tanking' of one of our opponents. So why not Morton? I didn't think the Stokes-Cummings partnership moved particularly well v Gers but Cummings scored a goal - still unsure re the effectiveness of this pair as I think more goals could've and should've been scored v Gers with a more potent front line!

Would deffo drop mcginn for this one.

Keep the 3-5-2 and play henderson or KT. I would give logan another shot, but who knows what stubbsy is thinking re the goalie situation. Oxley very nearly cost us that game although to be fair foderingham was awful too.

If only we had kept the head better in the closing stages with falkirk, even with our iffy form of late we would have been level with them and had a game in hand.

We still have a 'game in hand'! Thumb up

The game against Morton is vitally important because anything less than a win would see second place almost out of reach. It also serves as a confidence builder for the run in and cup final.

Neither in points nor goals difference.

Acknowledged but it finally puts a bit of pressure on Falkirk! Also forget the GD issue. We're gonna 'tank' somebody fairly soon. IMO we'dve beaten Rangers by 3 or 4 goals on Wed night had it not been for another predictable crap display by Oxley! Thumb down

Your arse - what has your goal keeper got to do with what you achieve at the other end?

Rangers gifted you two goals. You shouldn't have come away with even a point in that game.

And no keeper would have saved our second. Not even the fat messiah.
