In today's EEN, I'd just describe that comment as nothing more than 'cheap talk' that I've listened to under similar circumstances in seasons gone by!!
The only difference is we're in a different lower footie league and we're losing matches to some really crap opposition!!! 
Sure, Hibs captain should be getting involved in resolving some serious failures on the pitch, but if I was Hibs captain I'd be giving the press/media brief 'lip service' only and I'd be challenging certain players within the dressing room and on the training pitch to start 'brightening up their ideas'!! Hibeejim mentioned in a previous thread that they needed, 'A hard kick up the erse' but I'd be more extreme in exchanging punches, if necessary, to waken up some of these posing c#### - a last resort action but what to do to waken them up! 
It's called a passion for the club that a few players are not respecting and IMO that is unacceptable. The manager can only take it so far. It's up to responsible players like Gray and others to impose themselves on the training pitch and the dressing room. I'll be at Easter Road tomorrow night expecting a good reaction/performance from Hibs, as described by Stubbs in his recent post-match interview, but if it's the same shit again then I'm certainly gonna be located close enough to give the likes of Stokes and Cummings a verbal f###### roasting at every opportunity - something I don't normally do but there is a limit to some players disrespecting the fans who support them!! At the moment, as an active shareholder of the club, I'm patiently 'keeping my powder dry' before I finally 'let loose' on Leeann Dempster to start getting involved in dealing with the probs before season end and I know for a fact that getting directly involved in Hibs footie affairs is something that she would not normally be embroiled under Hibs code of conduct rules i.e. leave the footie affairs for the manager to deal with.

Well I was privileged enough to captain footie teams in my younger days and it's a practise I was familiar with to try and lift players but also avoiding physical confrontation with any fellow players in about 99 pc of all match involvement - sometimes there is an exception and I'm not surprised at your usual shit intervention (re a 'tongue in cheek' remark) that is true to form. I'll bet you've never seriously kicked a football in your life, let alone captained a team - just another erse trying to stir up on a topic you shouldn't even be commenting on!
As for your first remark, read and interpret my end para again and let it sink into that pea that you call a brain (eg maybe it's time for Dempster to cajole and motivate the manager!!!!) - what a shit-stirring idiot at work as usual, with nothing better to do with his time, but what's new? Go and study your previous tiresome comments of which there are too many! Nuff said!

If he could just write in paragraphs I think he'd be hilarious, however as he posts nothing but gibberish I seldom go beyond the first half dozen lines.
I reckon a good kick up the arse followed by a knee in the bollocks would improve his literary skills no end. Only seems fair to try his coaching methods on him first.

Bollocks. No one fights their players into playing better. Only a Neanderthal knuckle-dragging moron would think it's a viable management technique, and no manager worth his salt would appoint someone like that as captain.

When I was 19yo I founded a football team, trained it and entered it into the local senior county leagues. I have played for, captained, coached, managed and was on the committee of that football team (as secretary, treasurer and then as chairman) for over twenty years. That team was formed in 1987, and it still continues to this day.
All the experience I've gained from those endeavours tells me you're talking utter shite.

I've read that 'paragraph', and it needs no interpretation. It is perfectly clear and concise in its depiction of Leanne Dempster addressing the motivation of the playing staff and not the manager. Even so, it's not her job to motivate the manager either.

Ffs, he had her in the dug out not so long ago and just as quickly flip flopped there as he has here.
Luckily he's "keeping his power dry" which means he won't send her a 1000 word tirade of poorly constructed gibberish containing a mish mash of common assault techniques and an assortment of hackneyed claims that the players are not trying, while trying too hard and focusing on more important games. Not forgetting congratulating and remonstrating in equal measure on the masterstroke and utter folly that was the signing of the magically pish Antony Stokes.
