Middlesbrough v Town - Amelia Chaffinch - 03-04-2016 ![]() ![]() Tuesday 5th April
19.45
at the Riverside stadium
![]() We have to go back 3 years to our last win over the Smoggies. They went 1-0 up after a Scott McDonald goal in the 78th minute. However, Alan Lee got the equaliser in the 86th minute and Danny Ward the winner in the 90th. That was an evening in March 2013. That was at the John Smith's. We have to go back much further for our last away win. That was New Year's Day 1986! We won 1-0 at their former ground Ayresome Park. The scorer was Joey Jones. ![]() The best we've done since are two draws in the 2013/14 season. Oh dear, not looking good! Boro are riding high. 2nd in the league and on 73 points. We on the other hand can still be relegated and lie in 18th place. Their current squad includes the former beardy-weirdy, Adam Clayton who we exchanged for lots of money and Jacob Butterfield. Jacob Butterfield has since been sold for a profit to Derby. Kerching. They also have that naughty little boy who got his head turned by the bright lights of Blackburn ![]() ![]() Wonder why it never caught on.
![]() The many faces of Jordan Rhodes??? Are they trying to make him interesting? We should tell them about Zoe from Fartown!
![]() Middlesbrough have a few goal-scoring threats including David Nugent, ex of Leicester. He seems to come on as a late(ish) sub usually for Jordan Rhodes and has a good chance of scoring. He has 8 to his name this season which I think is fairly respectable. I wouldn't mind him at Town if they go up and get rid. What sort of contract did they give him? Do you know? I'll let Wakey guide you to a drinking establishment, if he can? Did we decide it was crap to get to for a midweek match if you're on public transport? I know it cost us £10 to park. Anyway, over to you. RE: Middlesbrough v Town - Lord Snooty - 03-04-2016 Excellent match preview. ![]() RE: Middlesbrough v Town - WakeyTerrier - 04-04-2016 It can be done by public transport the only problem being you have 2 times to aim for and you would have to leave early 21.50 from Boro or the late train of 21.56....I think we'll give it a miss. Drinking establishments, plenty of excellent pubs to drink in around Boro and by excellent I mean sh!tholes but they are very cheap. £1.49 for a lager and £1.59 for a John Smiths. The price is right so sink a few down. As for the match itself, well we will have to play better than Saturday as a attacking force if we are to get anything from this. Expect VLP,Paterson and Scannell to make returns to the line up, Davidson will come in for Husband at left back. Gonna stick my neck out here and go for a sneaky away win, I just think our set up is better for away games where the opposition have to come out and attack us a bit more. RE: Middlesbrough v Town - Amelia Chaffinch - 04-04-2016 Thanks Wakey RE: Middlesbrough v Town - Lord Snooty - 04-04-2016 Husband not available. Wifey will have to be left back instead. RE: Middlesbrough v Town - Lord Snooty - 04-04-2016 Dempsey and Hogg back in training. Wagner says they could be available for the Blackburn match. RE: Middlesbrough v Town - theo_luddite - 04-04-2016 Wouldn't touch John Smiths with a bargepole if they offered to pay me to drink it. Sam Smiths is a different kettle of fish. Top thread AmChaff, good to see you back on top form refereeing the Wendies thread and you haven't lost your touch writing one either. We are on a win-1-lose1 kick again so Newton's third law of football stats dictates that we are due a win. PS thieving railway bandits want £200 return at short notice from muddled England ![]() It's likely Keith Newton's third law by the way (ex Bollackburn, Burnalee, Ingurland and probably someone else's fullback) not Isaac, the not quite so well known centre half who was concussed by an apple landing on his bonce and formulated the theory of having some sense knocked into you as a result. RE: Middlesbrough v Town - Amelia Chaffinch - 04-04-2016 Thanks, theo, but I know I am a mere amateur compared to all your imaginative threads. Still, it's grand to be appreciated. RE: Middlesbrough v Town - jjamez - 05-04-2016 Was the alan lee game the one where the fog came pretty bad and some didnt actually know we had scored? RE: Middlesbrough v Town - Imre varadi - 05-04-2016 im predicting a town win to help the cheating feffers out ![]() ![]() |
