St Mirren v Hibs - 02/04/16 - ritchiebaby - 31-03-2016 April is the month of hope and new beginnings and the resurrection of life after hibernation ![]() Well, not really, I just made that up, but you get the gist of what I'm looking for from Hibs on Saturday. We like Paisley - I even have a couple of their pyjamas - and we won 4-1 at St Mirren's patch in November. Jason Cummings likes Paisley - he scored twice for Scotland Under21s against Northern Ireland earlier this week. I'm hoping that Hibs will love Paisley on Saturday night, after a well-deserved victory. We have signed another keeper, which would suggest he is getting ready for the Scottish Cup semi-final. He'll need a couple of first team games before then, which doesn't leave much more time to get him acclimatised. I'd like to see Stokes and Keatings start, with Cummings and El Alagui coming on in the second-half. Surely Fyvie is almost ready to come back at some stage and will McGeouch be close to a return as well? Right, lads, let's get stuck in and match our possession and shots statistics with more clinical finishing to give us a rip-roaring start to this vital month in our season. GGTTH RE: St Mirren v Hibs - 02/04/16 - 0762 - 31-03-2016 We have a critical 10 day period of commitment coming up and the 1st challenge is v The Buddies at New St Mirren Park. Then it's Livy next Tuesday at ER Stadium. Then it's The Wasps on their shit artificial pitch followed by another Tuesday evening match at ER v The Bairns, hopefully a crucial 'defining moment' for us. It should be 10 days of fun after a welcome Easter break for most of our players. This 1st fixture will be interesting to see what Hibs side Stubbsy decides to take the field and how they go about their business. I'm tempted to forgive Cummings and give him a start up front on a pitch where he appears to perform well and ultimately score goals - do it for Hibs as well son!! I'll predict a 1-3 win for the Cabbage and Ribs! ![]() RE: St Mirren v Hibs - 02/04/16 - hibeejim21 - 01-04-2016 I'm not predicting anything. I might get it wrong AND HOW DARE ME ![]() RE: St Mirren v Hibs - 02/04/16 - supercooper - 02-04-2016 (01-04-2016, 03:58)hibeejim21 Wrote: I'm not predicting anything. RE: St Mirren v Hibs - 02/04/16 - hibeejim21 - 02-04-2016 Usually leave that to "what channels it on larry rsc" Gets it spectacularly wrong every time. RE: St Mirren v Hibs - 02/04/16 - 0762 - 02-04-2016 FT, 2-2, and how precious a goal will Farid's predatory last mins strike be in kick-starting our 'business end' of the season? Falkirk draw as well. So no damage done! Time for Stubbs to bring back McGeouch and Fyvie asap as well as establish Logan in the goalie's position and strengthen up for 'the big push'! ![]() RE: St Mirren v Hibs - 02/04/16 - supercooper - 02-04-2016 He might even find his strongest side before the play offs. But being unqualified what would we know. (02-04-2016, 08:57)hibeejim21 Wrote: Usually leave that to "what channels it on larry rsc" Like Stubbs. RE: St Mirren v Hibs - 02/04/16 - hibeejim21 - 02-04-2016 A good point in the end. Our defending is starting to rival club 12s though. Stokes still misfiring (he had the scoring chances to 'do the biz' but scorned them again!) And any time Farid comes on, he adds more energy and impetus to our front line. He also knows where the opposition goal is! I notice we're still not injury-free - Keats and Fonts frustratingly added to Fyvie and McGeouch's absence. Also the Ox did not come out of this match with any distinction - IMO still a glaring weakness in Hibs defence. |
