These insinuations were recently being made by ex Hibs players, Russell Latapy and Kevin Harper. 'Sour grapes' or do they both make a valid point re a certain 'latent racism' that exists within the game in Scotland? After all, it's very clear there is still a sectarian issue that exists within the game. Why should it be any different, per se, with racism? Alex Smith of the SCMA dismissed these accusations 'out of hand' citing the anti racist policy of the association but again, like sectarianism, many antagonists tend to camouflage themselves within a 'cloak of deception' but they do indeed practice in this type of hate crime but do not advertise the fact for fear of being apprehended and charged with said hate crime.
It's certainly an issue in English footie and bbc's Panorama prog previously covered the problem and the lack of opportunities for ethnic players and coaches. A 'closed shop policy' immediately comes to mind.

I don't think players of any ethnicity in the British game.
Management might be a different matter as very few black ex players make the move into management. That might better reflect a HISTORIC problem with academic achievement amongst black male youth. Maybe time will cure the problem.

Maybe they had a bad meal in one. Time does help, but a couple of Rennie's usually speeds things up.
