Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - MNTerrier - 27-01-2016 ![]() ![]() Date ; Saturday January 30th Venue ; John Smiths Stadium Kick Off ; 3.00pm ![]() Huddersfield return home to the John Smiths stadium on saturday to face Cardiff to continue a run of tough games that , including Brighton will see them face 4 top half teams in a month , with a tricky game at Preston in the middle The terriers already lost the first of these games last week in a hard fought contest which saw little between the 2 teams, had town taken the chances the created the game could have ended very differently, it has galvanized calls amongst the fans to invest in a striker and a defender this window as Brighton's goal could have easily been avoided with a little more solid defending The game also took its toll on the squad with both Hudson and Smith suspended for the game, Hogg though will return from suspension. Whitehead will be challenging for a starting place after returning from injury , Dempsey is also expected to be fit and could take the right back spot An impressive result for the U21s in the premier league cup has some fans calling for the inclusion of some academy players, Holmes and Billing were impressive but the fans focus has fallen on U21 left back Senior who caught the eye during the game with brave forward play that was rewarded with a goal There is also the possibility of a starting place for new signing Karim Matmour who showed some good touches during his substitute appearance last saturday, also looking for a starting place will be James Husband, the on loan left back didn't have a great debut , but with Davidson looking a little shaky against brighton Husband might get his chance ![]() Cardiff come into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw with Rotherham, in game in which former town favorite Anthony Pilkington scored a hat trick. Despite significant investment Cardiff have underperformed a little this season compared the expectations and currently sit in 9th place 6 points outside the playoff places Cardiff will be hoping to get back on track and challenge for a playoff spot after an poor run of results that has seen them win only 2 of their last 8 games with disappointing losses to MK dons and Shrewsbury amongst those results Several members of Cardiff's squad will be well known to Town fans Lee Peltier , Anthony Pilkington and Sean Morrison were all popular players for the terriers. Morrison will be especially remembered for being one of the town players to score a penalty in the mammoth shoot out at wembley that say the Terriers promoted to the championship. Peltier and Pilkington are expected to feature but there are doubts regarding Morrison who suffered a knee injury and hasn't played since december 16th ![]() STARTING 11 predicting a Wagner starting team is hard enough but with Hudson and Smith both suspended the back 4 could look very interesting ![]() RE: Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - WakeyTerrier - 27-01-2016 I'm thinking maybe a loan signing coming in Thursday or Friday to cover our defensive frailties. RE: Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - Jeebers - 27-01-2016 I think after the Brighton game Town will be chomping at the bit to get a win Sat'de and put the record straight, need another good run RE: Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - Lord Snooty - 27-01-2016 Peltier got sent off at the weekend? Should be suspended. RE: Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - jjamez - 28-01-2016 Cant see any other changes other than the enforced ones this week RE: Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - WakeyTerrier - 28-01-2016 On another note regarding Saturday's game, some lad sadly passed away this week aged just 23 and his mates are trying to get a round of applause going in the 23rd minute. Now it's all very sad and I don't mean to offend anyone but where does all this end? Who is more deserving of a round of applause than others, the club already sets aside 1 game(boxing day against Bolton this season) to pay respects to all those Terriers who sadly passed away throughout the year. RE: Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - theo_luddite - 28-01-2016 Agreed Wakey. They should just get in touch with the club, send them a photo if they wish, and they'll announce it and put it on the scoreboard at half-time and again at the Boxing Day game like they do with anyone else that asks. One of our mates who had supported Town for a helluva lot more years than 23 passed away just over a season back and that was enough for us and his family. I think 6 months ago Wakey anyone supporting Town should have got a sympathy round of applause, bit like an injured player getting stretchered off This though is bollocks, might sound harsh but a big fat NO from me RE: Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - WakeyTerrier - 28-01-2016 Wagner has just confirmed Dempsey at right back and Cranie at centre back. Scanz doesn't need a op but will be out for upto another 4weeks RE: Huddersfield Vs Cardiff - theo_luddite - 28-01-2016 Will Town fans be in the South Stand this weekend? ![]() |
