Inevitable I'm afraid

Well thats the usual list of suspects!!! No surprise he has gone, I have never rated him as a manager but this is a very important appointment for you guys now.

Has to be not for the sake of staying in L1 but I think for the future of the club. The debt is too high and if we get relegated back to L2 then the crowds will drop down and so will season ticket sales so its pretty worrying.

That betting list suggest the bookies know nothing at this stage.Tbh the list doesn't inspire me ,made up of mainly proven failures or totally unproven.
In my opinion we should go for a manager who is on the up and /or has a good record at a lesser club.

RE: Goodbye Dean - spireitematt - 29-11-2015

Ritchie Humphreys should be given the job because he has his coaching badges plus he will already have the respect of the players and know there best positions and how to get the best out of them and you could have Ian Evatt as the assistant manager.

Favourite at the moment is Danny Wilson and I think Nigel Clough will be up there because he did wonders at Derby on a shoe string but found it difficult at Sheffield United. Jack Lester has been coaching at Forest and I think he would make a good assistant manager. Would Leam Richardson leave Cookie at Pompey and come back to manage us? Would Tommy Wright who is now the assistant head coach at Barnsley be interested again with Crossley as assistant? There is a lot of options its just choosing the right one.

A manager who I think would be a great fit for the job would be John Still he knows non-league so could find players he plays attractive attacking football he did well at Dagenham and he's done great at Luton the problem would be would he move North because a lot of the teams he's managed have been down South.

Our very own CEO is 14/1 to take over.

Could it be someone from within the club? Like Mark Smith the youth team coach.

RE: Goodbye Dean - Devongone - 29-11-2015

I always thought Chris Turner wanted complete charge. If he did that I'd find my life-long support stretched to its limits. I'd settle for Ritchie as his puppet ...... because I don't think he actually would be and he has impressed me at Chesterfield!

Danny Wilson is a lovely bloke and should have had the job years ago. Would now be a good idea?

Jack Lester never struck me as a manager, selfish, badly-behaved, but often that sort of player can prove you wrong and grow up.

Nigel Clough did as well at least as Marmalade Adkins (is he Adele's dad?) with the Blunts. IMO they would've been top now if they'd kept him, but he's a slow builder.

Kev at 50/1, I'd give him the job tomorrow if he'd take it. Otherwise I'd try Kevin Wilson and Steve Chettle in partnership.

Here's my realistic shortlist off the top of my head without too much research;

Experienced out of work decent reputation and record - Nigel Clough.Mark Cooper

Unproven but with good pedigree =gamble - Phil Neville-Ritchie Humpreys-Kevin Davies -Jack Lester.

Good record at a smaller club ,affordable-John Coleman .

Wilson now 4s with Skybet .Significant ?

The two names you mention there Pooch I would take as manager, Clough and Cooper. The other names are a gamble but managers have to start somewhere. John Coleman he's done well with Accrington this year I doubt he will want to leave as they could get promotion if they keep up this form.
