Huddersfield will host the Rams on saturday for what will be a welcome return to saturday afternoon football at home. the last such game being over a month ago.
The terrier come into the game with a decent run of results behind them, having only lost once in the last 6 games winning 3 and drawing 2, they have also kept 2 clean sheets in a row. something that hasnt happened for a long time. Although results have been positive, Performances have been somewhat lackluster and towns lack of a clinical edge in the final third has been prominent, not more so than the last 2 games, although a draw and a win Vs Ipswich and MK dons are good results they were far from convincing. The Terriers seem capable of getting the ball into good positions but everything seems to break down once a final ball or shot is required.
Injuries and suspension see to be hitting the squad right now, the Terrier will certainly be without newly back into the fold James Vaughan who will be serving the 2nd of a 3 match ban for being a naughty boy ( how did the MK player stay on the pitch after doing much worse?) and questions remain over whether Dempsey ( illness) Hogg ( thigh) or Carayol ( family bereavement) will be available for for selection
With the squad threadbare through injuries and loan outs there were 2 bright spots in tuesdays uninspiring win, impressive cameos from Paterson and Bojaj, Paterson took his goal well and looked eager and while its far too early to pass an judgment on Bojaj he showed a good touch and awareness to set paterson up for his goal. both will be knocking on the door for more minutes on the pitch.

Derby come into the game in impressive for, they currently sit 7 points ahead of Town and outside the playoffs only on goal difference. although Draws ave defined the early part of their season ( 6 so far) the team has the 2nd best away record of any team in the division and have yet to lose on the road.
The talent in Derby's team will be very familiar to Huddersfield fans , Jacob Butterfield of course needs no introduction, but derby boasts other familiar names, Cyrus Christie ( a supposed one time target for town) Richard Keogh , a former town loan signing who played 9 games scoring 1 goal for the terriers and Thomas Ince who town have faced numerous times for various teams. another name on the minds of town fans will be Chris Martin, the Derby frontman has notched 7 goals so far this season.

Make no mistake if town are going to get any result from this game the whole team will have to be at their very best

Towns Probable Team

Derby looked good thumping Wolves on the TV last weekend, far better than Wolves did beating us, but Bollackburn managed to Nil them on Wednesday. Not many have done that though (Burnalee being the last, also 0-0). They are the form team in the division but, let's see ......
Bolton away 0-0; Middlesbro home 1-1; Leeds home lost, 1-2; Preston away won 2-1; Burnalee home 0-0; Blackburn away 0-0 .... do they have a problem with clubs from up North?

Usually a goal fest these games, I can see another coming up but hopefully not the result that Wakey was forecasting.

Take a draw all day long. Not expecting much. Maybe they can give it a go with the pressure on Derby.

Yeah, a point will do in this match, seeing as we got the win on Tuesday. Anything else against one of the hot favourites for promotion will be a bonus.

i would give FloBo a start in place of the out of touch Nakki. Definitely keep BizMiller in, don't rate Keogh and think our big lad will give him a torrid time. Patterson to get half an hour in the second half.

RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Derby County - MNTerrier - 23-10-2015

i dont think FloBo is ready for a start but i'd happily give him 15 minutes regardless of how the game is going, his cameo on tuesday is too little time to make a proper judgement, and his assist was wrapped in a big red bow for him , but its still encouraging, some other young players would have gone for glory , he showed some maturity in picking out the pass.
ease him in slowly see how he does

Derby can be on or off - get them at the right time and it's ours - I predict an off day for the gaylords and a cracking win for the Town  Thumb up

RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Derby County - WakeyTerrier - 23-10-2015

I can see nothing but a Town defeat in this one, unlike Mk Dongs Derby have quality all over the pitch

RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Derby County - EastLondonTerrier - 23-10-2015

Although they are quality, Derby are bottlers and known to be a bit inconsistent so if we take it to them from the off, maybe we'll catch them off guard.

RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Derby County - MNTerrier - 24-10-2015

frustrating game, mainly because we had a few chances and got undone by a silly mistake. town sounded like they were doing ok, yes Steer had to make some saves but thats his job
Wells frustrates the hell out of me, maybe its time we start with Paterson who want the number 10 role and see how he works with miller

We competed, were never totally outclassed but we didnt have enough in the tank to truley threaten them nor a change of gear to up the tempo when neeeded.

We dont get enough balls in the box to create owt, the one time we did Ish did his best to shin it over, thankfully Bunn bumbled home the loose ball to bring us level.

Steer was again excellent, couple of late blocks which gave us a glimmer of hope to keep going.

I thought Carayol, given 70 mins to replace Scanz bottled it, a loanee journeyman at best, not prepared to take on his man. Davidson too against the better teams looks suspect. Huws playing in the 2 centre mids with Deano doesnt have the space a 3 gives him to effect the game offensively , so we got nothing cos really we didnt deserve anything. Squad class was all too clear for everyone to see, we didnt get thumped but need more training ground time to gel this lot into a team.
