Good on him. He'll maybe get a bet on without getting clyped to the Compliance Officer now.

Seriously though, the guy needs to earn. Shrewsbury seems as good a place as any.

League One: might still be getting £3000 a week.

He'll probably do well - just to confound us.

And I knew he was bigger than Berwick:

Shrewsbury pop. 72k

Berwick pop. 12k.

Shrewsbury's average home gate last season in League Two was just over 5,300.

Not sure how well they pay their players, but it'll be better than getting the overalls on again.

Amazing really, Worthing and surrounding towns have a combined population of 130k plus yet local teams gets crowds of about 250.

Quite sad really.

Imagine a town in Scotland that size not having a football team. Or even one proportionately the same c.13k.

"I like to be told honestly how I am doing. If I am not performing well then I like to be told because you need to be truthful with yourself to improve and help the team.”

You were shite.

Maybe if all those numpties on the East coast hadn't kept banging on about him as if he was a decent player in the first place he'd never have deluded himself about his real level. Actually that might be a bit harsh on him - he probably did look like a good player at Hearts compared to what he was surrounded with.

With a catchment area population of less than 25k, our local team - Highland League club Wick Academy - average around 450 over a season.

Inverness Caley Thistle average 2,500 with a city population of 72k.

Can the Worthing anomaly be down to the proximity of Brighton and Hove Albion?

That coupled with the London clubs i would imagine.

Good move for Blackie. Step up in standard from Rangers. Wish him all the best

And Pompey and Palace and a demographic devoid of the "lower orders" for most of its history - of which there is very little.

BHAFC do alright, I followed them weekly when I first moved here - went to Goldstone regularly for about 3 years.
