SPFL2, Saturday 19/09/2015 : Dumbarton 1-2 Rangers - Larry-AV - 13-09-2015 SPFL2 (Championship), Saturday 19/09/2015 : Dumbarton v Rangers, KO 15:00 hours. I will miss this match as I will be at Villa Park (Aston Villa v W B Albion) next Saturday. Nevertheless, I will post links to streams should any become available. Come half-time and full-time next Saturday I will be hoping and expecting to see good news from 'The Rock', that most stunning backdrop for a football stadium. ![]() RE: SPFL2, Saturday 19/09/2015 : Dumbarton v Rangers, KO 15:00 hours. - El Car - 13-09-2015 A week seems too long to wait for the next match! I want to see us keep up this run of wins and the momentum is definitely with us right now. It's worth remembering we only have to go back a couple of seasons for our last great run. It's easy to remember the bad times under McCoist but (albeit it in a lower division) in 2013/14 we won every league game we played before Christmas - 15 in a row - and our only blip in all competitions was the first round exit to Forfar in the League Cup where we were basically fielding our 2012/13 side due to the transfer embargo. We also won 6 cup games in that period to give us a record of 21 wins in 22 games. In our first 6 league games we scored 24 and conceded 3 (and game 7 was an 8-0 win over Stenny), and were playing some really good football with loads of players in different positions chipping in with goals. I firmly believe if we'd been able to keep that form going we'd have taken it into the Championship (we beat Falkirk and QotS comfortably as part of that run) but instead we reverted more and more to the long ball, we blew the Challenge Cup final and our defence looked more and more creaky. We only failed to win 3 league games all season and were unbeaten, but by the start of the next season we were playing more like the 2012/13 side again and never really recovered. McCoist got too hung up on the 'win at all costs' mentality instilled by Smith and passed up countless opportunities to rest and refresh players, and to give the rising stars a chance to play and compete for places. I don't know if there's a lesson to be learned - Warburton is a different manager with a different ethos and a different squad - but I know it feels good to see the side on an impressive run of form and results, and long may it continue. RE: SPFL2, Saturday 19/09/2015 : Dumbarton v Rangers, KO 15:00 hours. - TIN TIN - 14-09-2015 With the size of squad and wage bill, you were expected to win every game in the lower leagues for goodness sake, playing against plumbers, butchers, bakers, paper boys, joiners etc. RE: SPFL2, Saturday 19/09/2015 : Dumbarton v Rangers, KO 15:00 hours. - struth - 14-09-2015 Considering all the conmen that ran them in those 3 years, add in a poor manager and a lot of players that were just there for the money, they were lucky to do what they did tbh. Fortunately all that has been changed. Anyone that cannot see that must be blind RE: SPFL2, Saturday 19/09/2015 : Dumbarton v Rangers, KO 15:00 hours. - supercooper - 15-09-2015 Or a bitter troll Struth. RE: SPFL2, Saturday 19/09/2015 : Dumbarton v Rangers, KO 15:00 hours. - TIN TIN - 17-09-2015 Ah here you go again super with yer troll crap. El car had a decent post and all I was pointing out was that, with the size of the budget and signings made, all, but most bears expected Rangers to skoosh all divisions on their way back to their "rightful" place in Scottish footy. Blind Struth, my arse, just realistic. From the Whyte days, through to Charlie big hands, all the Bears follow, followed, blindly as it turns out as the journey shuddered to a halt at the end of 2014/2015 season in championship. Looks ok under Warburton now but are the current squad suitable for the step up to the premiership?. Just asking like. RE: SPFL2, Saturday 19/09/2015 : Dumbarton v Rangers, KO 15:00 hours. - supercooper - 18-09-2015 We will add to the squad Jan as Warbs stated earlier in the week. Looks like Hearts could be starting to struggle with life in the prem. Lose this weekend and it's 3 on the bounce, are you not concerned with your form ? As for Troll crap admittedly you aren't anywhere near Freds status, but a Troll all the same you are .
