Cardiff vs Huddersfield - MNTerrier - 07-09-2015 ![]() ![]() Date: Sept 12th Location: Cardiff City Stadium Kick Off: 3.00pm Huddersfield travel to Cardiff looking for their first win of the season. the terriers have started the season poorly with just 3 points from the first 5 games and no win as yet, a statistic made all the more frustrating as 4 of those games were there for the taking but a lack of creativity, clinical finishing and some would say bravery on the managers part leave Huddersfield in 22nd position in the league although early days a quick turnaround in needed an unusual end to the transfer window has seen key players in Smithies and Butterfield depart to great profit for the club, although town will have to wait until January to see much of that money reinvested several players came into the club Carayol, Huws and Paterson all joined before the deadline all on loan until the end of the season their was some confusion among town fans as Jordy Hiwula was allowed out on loan to Wigan as well of talk regarding Joe Lolley leaving the club, these are players that many town fans believe should be starting games or at least get 20 plus minutes from the bench. Team selections and tactics have left fans scratching their heads, the inlfux of new players leans towards the young, powerful and creative but the likes of Dempsey an the now out on loan Hiwula have barely got a look in meanwhile towns U21 and Academy continue to impress and win games, but none are seemingly good enough for first team action, although Hanson and Bojaj have appeared on the bench the Biggest question the be answered right now is who replaces Jacob Butterfield in the starting line up, Butts was the lynch pin of towns attacks going forward and at times the only creative player on the pitch. hes admitted to being unsettled by the attention of Derby county who he eventually signed for. it would seem there are 3 main candidates to fill this role new signings Dempsey and Huws would seem to be first on the list, although Holmes is also the kind of player who has been successful in that position for the U21s Cardiff by comparison have started the season well and sit 5th in the division on 9 points, they are currently unbeaten with 3 draws and 2 wins, some familiar faces could also be making an appearance at the john smiths, Cardiff have 3 former town players in their squad , Lee Peltier, Anthony Pilkington and Sean Morrison all of whom have at least 5 appearances so far this year ![]() Team Selection How I would like to see the team set up ![]() Use this11.com for drawing your football tactics How i think Powell will set up team ![]() Use this11.com for drawing your football tactics Cardiffs last starting team Marshall Peltier Morrison Connolly Da Silva Pilkington Dikgacoi Whittingham Ralls Mason Jones Prediction could be a long afternoon RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - Jeebers - 09-09-2015 Nice one MNT, can't see us getting anything from this one - 2-0 Cardiff.........isn'it RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - Mirf - 09-09-2015 Cardiff is not a happy hunting ground for Town and we have only picked up 8 league points from our 10 league games against them since 1983. We have only 2 wins, 2 draws and 6 defeats and a paltry 8 points from the 30 contested to show for our efforts so, unless Hoyle comes to his senses and stops selling our best players (have we anymore left worth selling?), I can't see us getting anything from this, or many other matches this season. Having said that, we desperately need at least something from this game otherwise it will be 3 points from the last 21, which just won't do, if we have any serious hopes of surviving another season in the Championship. I'm hoping for a 1-1 draw, although being realistic, I'm really expecting Cardiff to run out 2-1 winners at least. RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - Jeebers - 10-09-2015 I enjoy your stats Mirf, reminds me of the banter on the old Beeb site - you need to be here more often - a total of 19 posts equating to 0.04% in 8hr 54 minutes is a poor return - you need to up your ante RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - Mirf - 10-09-2015 Jeebers, It's like death warmed up is this site and even recognised past cheer leaders, such as Snooty and Amelia, hardly ever seem to post much on here. Oh for the days of JK Boots and The Town Cryer who certainly kept everyone on their toes, even if they did upset many on the way. Even that old die hard Wakey struggles to post much these days, although it could be that he's finally almost had his belly full of the shenanigans of late under Deadly Deano. I did try posting on DATM recently, but try pointing out a few stark facts and their self appointed kingpins such as The Sherrif, Doc Halliday & Ted Chippendale etc. soon put the knife in and get you permanently banned, as happened to me a couple of month's back. Anyhow lets hope we can sneak at least a point on Saturday which night waken up a few more punters. ![]() RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - theo_luddite - 10-09-2015 3 points in August was about as much as I thought we'd get when I first saw the fixtures. Was expecting one win and a string of defeats to be honest. So who is Ward going to replace at the back and is anyone anymore likely to find the onion bag? Not back from MNt's side of the pond until Monday so I'll give this a miss. RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - EastLondonTerrier - 10-09-2015 It's a shocking state of affairs that I've just become resigned to whatever happens this season already. If we win, great. If we lose, its what I half-expect. I live in hope rather than expectation. Long season eh. RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - WakeyTerrier - 11-09-2015 I'll do you a deal Mirf, I'll post more if you do. You're right by the way, I'm fed up right now...not with Powell but with Dean Hoyle. I'm not sure what his game plan is anymore but the 1thing I am sure of right now is we are heading and preparing for a league 1. No Murphy or Hudson tomorrow by the way, both injured. Still no James Vaughan either who picked up a injury on Thursday by the way...although those of you off the old BEEB site will remember OssettTerrier, well James Vaughan just happened to bob into his shop yesterday and said he'd been training all week and was raring to go. Someone somewhere is telling porkies and my money isn't on it being James Vaughan RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - jjamez - 11-09-2015 Typical 'new era' town isnt it. They spew bs about honesty-but lie out of their backsides. Integrity-well thats nonsense. Trust-yeah we get told to trust the club yet we still appear to be in a complete mess, especially with the goalkeeper scenario character- yeah we're like a soap opera with twists and turns and one saying one thing and someone else saying another ie the vaughan and butterfield situation. Pride- can we be proud of a team thats dull, near the bottom and looks and feels as if it is in a complete mess? Commitment-hahah well thats a bit silly now isnt it? We're definitely committed to our business partnerships but we lack a lot in the football department. Quality- dont make me laugh. Nothing seems to have an air of quality about it, there are a lot of glass players in the team, quality is the one thing this club really lacks from top to bottom. Value- ermm? Yeah we reeeally get value for money dont we... Success - nice idea...no plan on doing that. Maybe our under 9's will win their league? Respect - floating away down the canal. Oh and that pathways is a deluded fantasy created by people who dont truly grasp the concept but are able to sell it onto certain types of people/employees. It shows when we bring in a new goalkeeper to avoid playing lloyd. It shows when dean says the academy isnt producing so we have to buy youngsters from elsewhere. Its like me saying I'm going to start an airline company but cant afford any sort of plane. Its a hollow idea which one day may work but it isnt or cant work now so there is no point even talking about it. RE: Cardiff vs Huddersfield - WakeyTerrier - 11-09-2015 ![]() |
