Chelsea debacle - Salopbaggie - 12-08-2015 Just wondering what the rest of you thought about the debacle at Chelsea over Jose's hissy fit regarding Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro? For those of you that have missed the story, in a nutshell, Chelsea had gone down to 10 men after having their keeper dismissed earlier in the gane. In the 89th minute Hazard gets tail ended and goes down. The physio and team doctor run onto the pitch to treat him, as you would expect and Jose goes wild. Saying later "that whether you are a doctor or a secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game" and that he knew Hazard was not injured and that by them going on Chelsea now had to play with 8 outfield players until Hazard could get back on. This is despite Hazard (allegedly) saying he needed to come off. As a result of this Eva Carneiro has been stripped of all match day duties and is not allowed at training or in the team hotels, but supposedly keeps her job as first team doctor??? The situation gets stranger though if you look a bit closer firstly, she gets demoted, but the physio is fine, this is despite if you watch the video the physio was clearly the first to head for the pitch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cq0sThI6wVQ It has come out today that Eva Carneiro was twice beckoned onto the pitch by referee Michael Oliver to treat Hazard ahead of the Jose's hissy fit. So even if she thought for tactical reasons she should hold back a bit, she could not. Under the General Medical Council good medical practice guidelines, Carneiro would have been obliged to enter the pitch when referee Oliver called her on – regardless of whether Mourinho wanted her to treat the player or not. Ignoring that request would put her in breach of one of the GMC’s first tenets under the “safety and quality” responsibilities. Doctors are advised that they are obliged by the GMC to “take prompt action if you think that patient safety, dignity or comfort is being compromised”. As medical care providers, Carneiro and Fearn are required to put the principles of the GMC above the wishes of their employer (Guardian website) I do feel for Eva Carneiro, it's is bad enough the chanting she gets game in, game out "get your t**s out for the lads and worse (OK she might be one of, if not the hottest woman in professional football - but that no excuse) and now has to take stick in public for doing her job. [attachment=222] [attachment=223] Unless something has gone on behind closed doors we do not know about (as first team doctor, not being allowed at the team hotel or training, does seem a little strange), leave and sue the s**t out of them for constructive dismissal Eva. RE: Chelsea debacle - talkSAFT - 12-08-2015 We should have swopped had her as part of the Izzy Brown deal. She'd put another thousand on the gate. RE: Chelsea debacle - Luke_East_Baggie - 12-08-2015 Yep, I would of thought she is able to get unfair dismissal, however, when your vs the Juggernought of a business like Chelsea, I'm sure they will worm out of it. RE: Chelsea debacle - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 12-08-2015 Aside from the other concerns you've rightly raised, I think it's playing with fire for a club to treat its medical staff as tactical pawns in the game; their concern should be for the welfare of the players, regardless of what the manager thinks or says. You only have to reflect on incidents like Fabrice Muamba a few years back to realise the potential consequences - as a worst-case scenario - if doctors and physios feel like they need written permission in triplicate before they can run onto the pitch. They're there for a reason, Jose; let 'em do their jobs. RE: Chelsea debacle - WillieJohnstonsGreenhouse - 12-08-2015 No offence Salop, but when you say 'I do feel for Eva Carneiro, it's is bad enough the chanting she gets game in, game out "get your t**s out for the lads and worse' and follow it up with a photo of her in her underwear............................................................... ![]() Mourhino is a Napoleonic loon. A fine manager without doubt but you know what they say about short blokes. The medical staff did their job - imagine he was in serious trouble and they hadn't bothered ![]() The little mickey mouse bloke had blown it and needed someone to take the flak RE: Chelsea debacle - Salopbaggie - 12-08-2015 LOL its not underwear she is wearing, it is an evening dress, granted you can not see the rest of it on that photo. Plus don't forget the one of her on duty only emphasising that you can have a brilliant c.v. like she has in sports medicine and still be stunning. RE: Chelsea debacle - WillieJohnstonsGreenhouse - 12-08-2015 Sorry, wasn't having a go ![]() The ref called the medical staff on so Jose can do one in my opinion |
