No Football=Silly Post - Arcane Astral Aeons - 26-06-2015 just a bit of fun imagine you just bought a new Baggies shirt What player past/present would you like to sign it? and having that player sign it would you wear it and never wash it? oh and on the subject of shirts I WANT THE GREEN AND YELLOW AWAY STRIP BACK.....NOW!!!!! first away strip i ever bought and i still think its better than any away strip we have had since then RE: No Football=Silly Post - betterthanbaird - 26-06-2015 I want a Laurie Cunningham shirt but I think he played before names on the back of the shirts, (tell me if I'm wrong). I'd also like the yellow and green away kit. RE: No Football=Silly Post - Baggievicar - 26-06-2015 I've got a nasty feeling I ought to say Kwame Ampadu, just because I'm a vicar and I ought to care about the poor, the weak and the misfits. But I'll go for Len Cantello, because he was a proper footballer. The yellow and green kit always reminded me of a load of under-ripe bananas running round the pitch. Sorry. RE: No Football=Silly Post - silverbaggie - 26-06-2015 My choice would be a number 10 shirt with Bobby Hope's name on it but, as betterthanbaird has already pointed out there were no names on shirts in those days and no specific numbers were allocated to the players. So for example in the 1966/67 season the No 5 shirt was worn mostly by Stan Jones but later in the season by John Talbut and Eddie Colquhoun. I rather liked that away strip of a few seasons ago; the navy blue one with the diagonal stripes in red and white. RE: No Football=Silly Post - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 26-06-2015 Correct me if I'm wrong, but surely Garry was asking which player you'd like to sign the shirt, rather than whose name you'd have on the back? RE: No Football=Silly Post - Squirrel Regis - 27-06-2015 Jeff Astle or Laurie Cunningham or Bobby Robson or Ronnie Allen all for obvious reasons. R I P |
