Berahino Away? - Salopbaggie - 22-05-2015 Normally I do not give to much credence to newspaper talk involving possible transfers. However in Saido's case, despite the normal speculation in the press about him transferring out, things are starting to look a lot more likely with just this week Lescott releasing a statement saying the players would give him their blessing if he gets a move away. Today TP has issued a statement saying "he wants Berahino to stay at The Hawthorns but would not block a move to a club in the Champions League." http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/2015/05/22/tony-pulis-gives-saido-berahino-champions-league-blessing/ I think Saido has kept his nose clean enough of late to reassure the big boys and the only thing I see going against him now is his choice of agent (#Sterling). I think all we can do is thank the lad for his service and wish him all the best. RE: Berahino Away? - wba_1996 - 22-05-2015 Only options for me are to sell him or for him to sign a new contract. We can't afford to let him go for cheap next summer as he only has 2 years left on his deal. The best option for him would be to accept a ~£50k pw contract and continue his development here. The best move for his bank balance would be to move to a Champions League club. If we do sell I wouldn't take a penny lower than £20m. RE: Berahino Away? - May68 - 22-05-2015 Interesting that the club are taking this line. Normally they say a player is not for sale regardless of whether he is or not, in the hope that the buying club will have to increase the bid to 'tempt' them into the sale. The fact that they are basically advertising him says to me that they reckon several clubs will be interested and they want to start a bidding war. My thoughts exactly, though with his agent who knows! |
