Hibs v Cowdenbeath - 13/09/14 - ritchiebaby - 12-09-2014

There's not much happening on here and I'm not sure if many Hibbies have made it across the great divide, so we'll see if there's any reaction to this thread.

Hibs are currently 3rd from bottom and have played reasonably well in their first four games. In their first game against Dumbarton, they started off at the double and raced into the lead, but as usual they just managed to hang on for a 2-1 home win. Then away against lucky old Hearts, they again managed to play well for half a game, but lost 1-2. At home against Falkirk, we played poor to average and escaped with a 0-1 loss, but it could have been worse. Last game we travelled to Alloa and guess what? - we played well again and managed to lose 1-2.

Tomorrow we're at home against the bottom club (Cowdenbeath - The Blue Brazil) and I'm so much of an optimist, that this is going to be the start of Hibs surge up the table. A 4-1 win is all that I'm asking for, although we'll need something special from our attack. Suffice to say that our top scorer (2 goals) is out until January/February and our equal 2nd top scorer is our keeper! Dominique Malonga is our newest attacking threat, recently starring in Serie A no less, hopefully ably assisted by Jason Cummings, our only other scorer so far. Alan Stubbs thinks that the international break will have helped because the team has been given a chance to gel with the new players coming in.

My team -
Oxley,
Gray, Fontaine, Hanlon, Booth,
Stanton, Kennedy, Handling, Allan,
Malonga, Cummings.

Has the badger been culled?  Whistle

Good luck with this today Ritchie, looks like the free ticket uptake has been good so hopefully the bigger crowd see a good performance and a few goals.......season starts today for you Thumb up

Well you could certainly do with a change of luck. I can't believe how far the cabbage have fallen. Just shows what happens when your goalscorer leaves and doesn't get adequately replaced.

Please let this be the turnaround that Ritchie expects. I haven't been watching sportscene this season because I have been working silly hours but hopefully will see highlights from this one.

The badger hasn't been culled, Rich. We have requested a new one from the pet shop. I will go natter the mods to see what's happening.

Well done on your comeback thought it was gearing up for another home defeat, hopefully you can kick off now and give Hearts a challenge for the 2nd spot Wink

Thanks everyone, especially Amelia. Still no other Hibbies, though.  Sad

Unless you'd all like to be considered honorary Hibbies, of course.  Cool

For Amelia - tuning into Sportscene won't do much good, I'm afraid. We'll only appear when we play Hearts and The Rangers.  Wink

Now that the great revival has started, I'll try again next week for the QOS match. For this match, Hibs are so frustrating yet again. Alan Stubbs says that he will take late, late goals every match, but he doesn't want to Hibs to be in that position of having to rely on that. Why do we have to make life as difficult as we can? Answers on a postcard to Easter Road.

Aye Ritchie, well done on the comeback. Looked ominous for a spell, despite you outplaying them for long spells. Funny thing is Coop must think Queen of the South will win the league if Hibs and Hearts are going to be vying for 2nd place!!

Is there anywhere I can get highlights then?
