Huddersfield Town Player of the Year 2014/15 - Lord Snooty - 20-04-2015

You can vote here. Don't know if this is going to be a fair system. I've managed to vote twice already.

Nahki Wells is both Huddersfield Town's top goalscorer in the league and all competitions this season (10 and 13 respectively) and he has contributed to the largest share of goals in his side's overall tally for the season having registered a further four assists to his 10 league strikes.

Jacob Butterfield will also be a strong contender having replaced Clayton in the summer, arriving in a deal which saw Town pocket £1m plus the playmaker, flourishing in midfield and registering seven assists as well as five goals in his maiden season.

Butterfield has been ably assisted in the centre of midfield by fellow joint-top appearance maker Conor Coady and Jonathan Hogg with the team arguably functioning best when the three have lined up together.

Alongside Butterfield at the top of the assists chart is popular winger Sean Scannell , who has enjoyed a renaissance under Chris Powell's tutelage and has also contributed four goals this season, a tally bettered by only four other Town players.

On the other flank is Harry Bunn , who has enjoyed a stunning first full season at this level having scored nine goals to leave him second behind Wells in the top goalscorers list and that is despite missing chunks of the season through injury.

Other players who can also boast strong cases include Tommy Smith , last year's players' Young Player of the Year and someone who has made great strides this term, goalkeeper Alex Smithies , who will also be eyeing a third successive players' Player of the Year crown and captain Mark Hudson , who has been an ever-present at the heart of defence.

The other players on this year's shortlist are last season's top goalscorer James Vaughan , the 2013/2014 goal of the season winner Joel Lynch , central defender Murray Wallace and popular former loan left-back Jack Robinson , whose season-long loan from QPR was cut short due to a knee injury.

We will do our own Sports Babble vote though as well.

Butterfield will win it by a landslide

and rightly so in my opinion

I've voted for Scans. Been our best attacking player. Between him and Butts.

I get that Scanz has had a good season, and so have Smithies and Lynch, but I don't get why anyone would vote for any of those players ahead of Butterfield. Butterfield offers something even when he has a quiet game, he never shies away from the ball and is always the one to try and move us forward - pretty much all our goals are either assisted by or from a move started by Butterfield. Scanz has had some good games where he's noticeably ripped full backs to pieces but he's also had a LOT of games where he's been invisible, shied away from the ball or had zero end product. Butterfield to win, by a landslide, any other result would be a complete farce.

Butterfield by a landslide, he's far and away are most creative player, always looking to drive the ball forward and not afraid to have a crack at goal

Echo everyone else's thoughts. Has to be butterfield. Think at brighton he had an off day but apart from that both watching live and from reports I've barely heard anyone say he had a bad game. Consistently our top performer, our most creative player and permanent fixture in the team. Been fit the whole season, joint top assist maker and chipped in with a few goals. Could argue he could have got a few more as a CAM but in his first season on the whole, outstanding. Gives us leadership in the middle as well so the rest of our midfielders don't go missing.

Scannell has been man of the match week after week after week. I disagree that Butterfield will win by a landslide. A lot of his work is unspectacular and goes unnoticed.
Scannell will win by a small margin.

Butterfield came with a good footballing reputation and he has pretty much lived up to that though like everyone else, when teams came to park the bus he and therefore we as a team couldn't unpick the locks to get the buses out of the way. Every vote he gets is deserved.

Scanz wasn't given a sniff by Robins for whatever reason. He's taken his chance under Powell when had we waited another couple of weeks he'd have likely been cooling his heels at Millwall. Sure a few more goals and assists would have helped but as the season wore on he was getting double and treble manned in an effort to stop him. His defensive work this season has also been terrific and largely goes unnoticed because many Town fans only watch him and judge him going forward. He gets my vote.

Scanz is BWF player of the year. Seems like most of us were wrong then. Not upset about that though. He deserves it just as much from coming back into the fold and becoming one of our most important players.

i think you have to look at consistency and Butterfield has consistently the best player on the pitch , while scannell has played well this season and suprised most of us he hasnt had anywhere near the consistency the Butterfield has had, and while scannel goes on spectacular runs and scares defenders he lacks an end product , Butterfield has both more goals and more assists than scannell does. look ar butterfield last 2 assists , the cross fr vaughan and the through pass for scannell , football porn both of them and there isnt another player on the team that could do that

if Butterfield doesnt win it it will be a travesty in my opinion
