The Big Build Up

Its the first Saturday in March and both Town and Rotherham have 11games left in the season, neither are yet safe from relegation but you have to say both could do with a win here for different reasons
Town- Well after a disasterous week in the capital which returned 0points and a combined 7-1 thrashing by a average Charlton side and a well oiled Brentford side we need to get back on the winning trail, not least because Season Card prices are revealed this weekend and folks cant put up with splashing the cash for little return in he way of Town performances.
Rotherham meanwhile sit one spot above the relegation zone a mere 6points in front of relegation so a win for the Millers could see them nine points from the drop with 10games to go and leave the angry men of Millwall with a mountain to climb

Managers Comments
Chris Powell-taken from Twitter
CP: "we have a few knocks from midweek - Jack Robinson being one - but we're hoping they'll be ok for Saturday"
CP: "the season is not over. We've had a downturn in fortunes this week, but we need to build momentum again"
CP "we have to get points for this season; we're not relying on others failing. We also wuant to build momentum for next season"
CP: "we have to improve defensively, for our own benefit. We can't shy away from our record this season. We want to be better"
CP: "we have to carry on & get results this season. Rotherham will come here desperate for 3 points, but we're equally determined"
CP: "I always take responsibility for my #htafc team; win, lose or draw. I need to show them how to react to a difficult week"
CP: "there's no major overhaul needed here; we have the basis of a good @SkyBetChamp side. We do need to build on some aspects though"
CP: "we've defended naively at times & made bad decisions in vital spells as a team & individuals. We've conceded far too many goals"

Jabba the Hutt- '6 Big Macz with large fries, a bargain bucket family meal, 241 extra large pizzas from Pizza Hut and Dominos....what's that you've got a Papa Johns in Huddersfield go on then what ever they have on offer as well. Say what...you have a Pie loyalty card for the ground, I'll fill my boots with some of that'

Form Guide
Last 6 League games
Town currently sit 19th in the form table with th following record
LDDWLL 5pts

Rotherham currently sit 23rd with the following record
LDLLWL 4pts

not alot in it then

Towns last 6 home games have produced
WWLLDW 10pts

Whilst Rotherhams last 6 away have been
DLDLLL 2pts

This really should be a home win but you never know when it comes to watching Town

Teams
Town need to entertain the restless home crowd so a attacking formation needs to be seen this weekend, we know no matter how many defenders we have on the pitch we are likely to concede
Here's my line up if they are all fit
Smithies
Smith,Hudson,Lynch,Robinson
Scannell,Hogg,Butterfield,Bunn
Vaughan,Wells

Rotherham, no idea of formation sorry about that
Collin
Hunt
Broadfoot
Arnason
Fryers
Newton
Green
Smallwood
Pringle
Ward
Derbyshire

They Played for Both
Crikey this is easy this week.

Jack 'the helmet' Hunt
Town youth player who used to raid down our right hand side but then became billy big B*****ks and demanded a transfer to the big time. To be fair to Jack he was unlucky at Palarse with injuries and has tried his luck elsewhere on loan since(Barnsley,Notts Forest and now RovRum)
[Image: Jack%2BHunt%2BHuddersfield%2BTown%2Bv%2B...zT-bcl.jpg]

Adam 'Stepover kid' Hammill
The master of stepovers is our Adam, currntly on loan at RovRum from Town so he wont be allowed to play this weekend. despite obvious talents he seems to be slowly drifting further down the league ladders for one reason or another
[Image: Adam+Hammill+Huddersfield+Town+v+Derby+C...YUyLll.jpg]
Danny 'hat-trick at Watford got me a new contract' Ward
Big Town signing brought in to replace Anthony Pilkington, often a scapegoat to Town fans and anothr that didnt hit the heights expected of him. Initially loaned to RovRum in January before making the deal permanent about 3 days later for the princely sum of probably not 10% of what we paid for him

Wakeys Big Match prediction
A right old rip roaring battle between West and South Yorkshire with not much quality to show for it
2-2

RE: Huddersfield Town v Rortherham United - SHEP_HTAFC - 04-03-2015

Great thread Wakey.....
Apart from the bottom three, Rovrum are the second worst scorers in the league.
You just know they will improve that record against us on Saturday.
I'm going for a shaky 3-2 win for our boys though.

Chris Powell pre match comments added.

Confirmed that Wells won't figure this weekend, Lynch is back in training and Robinson is a doubt

RE: Huddersfield Town v Rotherham United - Lord Snooty - 05-03-2015

Nice one, Wakey. Hope we get the Dr Jeckyl side on Saturday.

RE: Huddersfield Town v Rotherham United - WakeyTerrier - 05-03-2015

A few quotes from Jabba this afternoon.

SE: “Morgs is 50/50. With the prognosis he might not make Saturday. Do we take the chance? If he's 95%, absolutely. We want our captain.”
SE: “It's been formally agreed that Adam Hammill can't play against his parent club.” #rufc
SE: “Huddersfield bought Danny Ward for a lot of money from Bolton. He still thinks very highly of a lot of the players there.”
SE: “Jack Hunt is another player really looking forward to go back. It's a good football club that treats people right.” #rufc
SE: “These players will be aware of certain things that might happen in a game. I've asked them if they can help.”
SE: “I've got a lot of respect for Chris Powell. They're a well-organised side but they've suffered a couple of heavy defeats recently.”
SE: “They're a team that have been purposely strong at home. They're big and strong at the back and that gives you a base to win matches.”
SE: “We owe our supporters a result. There will be a lot of fans there with it only being an hour or so away.” #rufc

Thought I was seeing double with this thread, then realised I was. Good effort Wakey. Thumb up. We're all hoping for a big improvement this weekend. They've just about brought a complete new team in since Boxing Day and while they are now two games clear of Millwall, they ain't that good.

How long does Hammill have left on loan? Thought it was only a 30 day job. Can't be long before someone pulls the extension chord surely?

RE: Huddersfield Town v Rotherham United - JUSTASILLYOLDGIT - 07-03-2015

I fear that's the 3rd of 5 straight defeats. Thank goodness for Blackpool and Millwall, and A.N.other!  Doh   Thumb down

RE: Huddersfield Town v Rotherham United - Lord Snooty - 07-03-2015

That was crap. But let's look at the positive side. And it is the only positive to come out of today.
We're still eleven points above relegation.

RE: Huddersfield Town v Rotherham United - theo_luddite - 07-03-2015

Awful, awful, awful. Got me ticket for next week. Thumb up

RE: Huddersfield Town v Rotherham United - TerrierTim - 07-03-2015

Utter Sh!Te - Just wasted my Sat afternoon watching a load of garbage played by a team who showed no passion....no creativity....no committment and certainly no desire to be a proud Terrier.....

Powell has to shoulder some of the blame as well - one up front against a side who have shipped goals.....good idea Chris  - not !
Lynch - what a sack of fcking lard......just not interested
Vaughn - lets all pass it to me....I think I am good but in fact I am not....but if you don't pass it to me you will in big trouble.....
Robinson.......grrrrrrr......

Highlight of the first half......Smithies save

Highlight of the second half - emptying my bladder at the end of the game.

We will now struggle - and we will finish 4th from bottom.....if we are lucky.....

Clear out required.....(I thought about that at the end of the game as well)....

Get a grip Town....shown some passion.....or fck off somewhere else ! (and play the non league sh!te you played today)
