MANAGER

Vítor Emanuel Soares Matos (born 28 March 1988) is a Portuguese football manager who is the head coach of EFL Championship club Swansea City.

Matos began his career coaching youth teams in Portugal, including at Porto. After two years coaching at Shandong Luneng in China, he returned to Porto before joining Premier League club Liverpool as an elite development coach under Jürgen Klopp in 2019. Five years later, Matos joined Pepijn Lijnders as his assistant coach at Red Bull Salzburg.

In 2025, Matos became manager of Liga Portugal 2 club Marítimo, his first job as a head coach of a senior team. He was appointed head coach of Swansea City later that year.

SWANSEA AT NIGHT THINGS TO DO



Usually arrive about 2 hours before the kick off and where the ground is, cross the River and go for a wander arond the shopping complex, before the strange rearranged Friday game a couple of seasons ago, did the amble and was wandering round the B and Q car park as you do.
Came across the a bloke trying to put a massive piece of board in the back of his exceedingly small hatchback, needless to say wouldn't fit, could have watched his efforts for hours but sadly had to go and witness a 2-1 defeat with the winner coming in extra time.

Anyway hopefully they will do the basic right especially after Friday, not expecting a glorious victory but the Championship is such a bizzare division you never know.

History

On Friday night managed to rock up 100 league and cup games on the bounce, my previous best was 93, completed every game in the 1991/92 season and was wading my way through the 92/93 season untill 3/4/1993 on the day this happened

Early morning start five altogther in my Cranberry Red Rover Metro J894NFV, think we stopped at Hay on Wye, anyway running late for the 3pm kick off at the Vetch, listening to the build up of the all Sheffield semi final and travelling at a snail's pace on Swansea Bay Road.
Commentator, the weather at Wembley is dull and grey however not as bad as in the South West and Wales were the games at Torquay and Swansea have been postponed.
Rearranged for about 10 days later couldn't go as started a new job and was on a 6 week training course.
