Norwich vs WBA - FA Cup Fourth Round Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 13-02-2026 Having welcomed and duly dispatched Black Country opposition on home turf with five goals in the last round of the cup, and then put five more past another Black Country side in the league on our own patch (trauma counselling is available for anyone affected by any of the issues raised in this sentence), Norwich could be forgiven for thinking that tomorrow's tie is a formality, and that they're guaranteed to sail through. And indeed, five wins in the last six is a pretty emphatic dose of momentum to take into tomorrow's encounter. But having seemingly perfected the art of the no-score draw this past week, Albion might yet have enough fight left to take things the distance in this one. Of course, it won't be the end of the world if our cup journey does end here; we've got our league status to worry about. But the day the cup becomes a mere distraction is the day we give up on football altogether, so let's hope for more guts and gusto from the Baggies tomorrow. RE: Norwich vs WBA - FA Cup Fourth Round Match Thread - drewks - 13-02-2026 Yeah I agree Ska'd - I'm still an F. A. Cup fan (although I couldn't even say who has won it in the last 5 years)..... it's the one competition that ANY team could make the headlines in, for good or bad. In spite of my bracketed comment above I'd love us to take this seriously - as seriously as a league game. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see this happening though, nor can I see anything other than a defeat here unfortunately. RE: Norwich vs WBA - FA Cup Fourth Round Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 13-02-2026 Drewks, I know last year Palace won it but other than that I have no idea. For me a cup run, heaven for bid, actually winning it is still a big dream of mine, I love the cup no matter how much the whinning, whinging big boys moan about too many games, I loved the thought of replays and small fish earning enough to keep them afloat, but the FA once again bow down and surrender. How long before you can name and make eleven substitutes so the flash Harry's don't get their socks to dirty or wear themselves out of puff. Bring back one sub, ploughed fields, hefty crunching tackles. Or in other words the 70's. RE: Norwich vs WBA - FA Cup Fourth Round Match Thread - Salopbaggie - 14-02-2026 It really is one of those fantasy v reality situations, personally would I like to see us win the F.A. Cup, of course, I was there for the glory of 1968, and I was there for the heartbreak of 1978, the train coming past a lit up Wembley on the way home after we had just been knocked out by Ipswich at Highbury. But is it a realistic hope for us to have any chance of winning it this year, not at all. So the question my sensible head asks is do we really want the extra games and risk even more injury's to an already threadbare squad, when in reality we know we are not going to win it? RE: Norwich vs WBA - FA Cup Fourth Round Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 14-02-2026 Salop, I was there in 78, aged 11 (before my summer birthday), I remember the journey down, passing Wembley on the train in a nano second, on the way back the train took three days to pass Wembley, or that’s how it felt to a heartbroken pre teenage boy. That heart break repeated against Spuds in the league cup semi over two legs and QPR (courtesy of Allen’s arse I think) and again against Pompey in 2008, their goal would have disallowed under VAR due to the handball on the touch line leading to the shot, save and tap in. Why do we never have any luck in the cup competitions. Today its like oh well at least we might get a few players back now. |
