Prediction League Week 23 Results - St Charles Owl - 03-02-2026

Group A

Zimnan 16
Minizin 14
A.A.A. 12
BaggieOne 11
BaggieVicar 9
B.B.B. 9
Stairs 8
Twerton 2

A decent week in Group A, one that didn't set any records, high or low but did see some consistent performances. None of the games produced a negative score and as its bad ball playing that causes negative scores, the balls this week performed ok. The Man Utd v Fulham game though was a heart attack for most players if they were watching it!! At half time that game was providing 19 points across the group but when Fulham equalized in injury time that total dropped to a devastating -2 points!!! But then up popped the MU winner and the points total going back up to a very health 16 points!!

Of course with this being a Baggies dominated Group, the Wolves home defeat produced the most points, no way Baggies fans are predicting a Dingles win but with their season so far it was certainly the head making that decision anyway!! But the typical Baggies heart seemed to take over the decision making for the Gamball, which only produced 2 points with six out of the 8 players predicting a Baggies win!! Just a shame Zinman doesn't chose any Wednesday games as they are far to easy to predict even for me at the moment, no heart required for those games!!!

For the second time this season our consistent wooden spoon holder put it down and grabbed a sharp knife instead and this saw Zinman finish top with 16 points!! He scored on all his balls and added a CS to the list as well, one of only 6 this week. His smaller version, Minizin came in second with 14 points, he and Zin were the only ones to score points on the Gamball so no surprise they top the table this week. The inform AAA is 3rd with 12 points, he scored on 5 games and like 5 others managed a CR on the Bonus.

BaggieOne, BaggieVicar and BBB were only separated by 2 points. They all scored on 5 games, all got the Gamball wrong but all picked up a CR on the Bonus. The 2 extra points for B1 came from him having the only CS amongst them. Stairs patchy form see him just a point back in 7th place, he was one of the 2 players to miss on the Bonus.

The other player to miss on his Bonus was Twerton, a man whose form has really deserted him and sees him with a grand total of zero points over the past 3 weeks!!!

247 Minizin
229 Stairs
226 A.A.A.
211 BaggieOne
209 BaggieVicar
195 B.B.B.
194 Zinman
173 Twerton

Only one positional change this week, BaggieVicar drops to 5th having been joint 4th last week. Minizin stretched his lead a little and Stairs stays in 2nd spot but for how long?? AAA is now just 3 points behind him and over the last 10 weeks that gap has shrunk by 34 points between them!! Bit of a gap down to One and Vicar with BBB and Zinman now locked in a battle for 6th place. Twerton is now rock bottom and like above, Zinman has outscored him by 30 points over the last 10 weeks to firmly shove that wooden spoon in his hand!!

Cheers
SCO

Group B

Amelia 14
Themaclad 13
4eva 13
Snooty 12
Derby 11
Lady Jane 10
Salop 9
SCO 4

Another good week for Group B (with 1 exception!). Just 5 points separate the top 7 players and all the balls produed positive points. There was an above average number of correct result predictions but just 5 correct scores with nobody getting more than 1. Coventry's loss hurt a number of players, blowing 3 bonus balls and scoring minus 7 points.

Amelia heads the table with 14 points, her best total since week 14. She made up for a missed gamball by scoring a maximum on her bonus - her first of the season. Themalad and 4eva share second place with identical results. They had the week's high of 6 correct predictions but both played their bonus on the Coventry fixture. A point back is Snooty, failing to nail any correct scores but scoring on all his balls, the only player to do so this week.

Derby and Lady Jane both reached double figures, Derby edging a point ahead thanks to his score ball, and Salop is just a point back, matching Derby's balls and correct predictions but missing out on a correct score.

And then we have SCO, demonstrating the impact of failing to get his balls right. SCO had an identical score/results breakdown as Snooty and Salop but got his balls all wrong to leave him stranded at the foot of the table (and yes, I am milking this!)

242 4eva
218 SCO
196 Lady Jane
181 Themaclad
180 Snooty
169 Derby
168 Amelia
163 Salop

The only changes in the overall table see the separation of those who were tied last week - Themaclad edges above Snooty and Amelia leaves Salop back at the foot of the table on his own. Still a healthy gap separating the top positions with 4eva now a strong favourite to secure a place in the play-offs. SCO and Lady Jane will need to keep one eye on Group A as they try to join him.

Zin

Playoff Update

1: Minizin - 247 points
2: 4eva - 242

3: Stairs - 229
4: AAA - 226
5: SCO - 218
6: BaggieOne - 211

7: BaggieVicar - 2 points behind Playoff places
8: Lady Jane - 15
9: BBB - 16
10: Zinman - 17
10: Themaclad - 30
12: Lord Snooty - 31
13: Twerton - 38
14: Derby - 42
15: Amelia - 43
16: Salop - 48

With less than 10 weeks remaining the number of players with a possible chance of making the playoffs is shrinking!! Minizin and 4eva seem to be fighting it out for the top seed. The 4 playoff spots are still dominated by Group A but SCO has forced his way back into them. BaggieVicar is a good week on the Gamball away from them and Lady Jane, BBB and Zinman are still within a shout of that coveted and usually momentum filled 6th spot.

Below that while its certainly not impossible, it does appear that barring a serious run of form the bottom 6 players might want to start booking their vacation this summer!!!

Well obviously you pulled your socks up as you said you needed to do.

Obviously I simply forgot to put my socks on this week!!!

Trust me, I am still going to chase you until the end but lets make sure we don't get pipped to the playoffs by any of those charlatans in Group A!!!
