LAST MATCH

Our first proper hammering came after 12 games as in form Coventry put five past us. It didn't take long for Coventry to take the lead when Asante scored from close range following a corner. After a brief stoppage in play for a pitch invasion, Coventry made it 0-2 when Asante fired in past Horvath. It was 0-3 on HT when Wright tapped in although he was a couple of yards, poor officiating just for a change. Onto the 2nd half and Coventry added a a couple of more goals, Simms tapping in after a cross and Sakamoto drilling in after we failed to clear a cross. Brown had a chance for a consolation but headed just over.

THE MATCH

Our first game after the international break sees us travel south to take on Charlton. Charlton have done ok, so far this season, with 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats, and are the highest of the 3 promoted teams from last season. Realistically, they should be looking to stay away from the relegation battle and should have enough to do that and a bottom half finish looks likely. They are managed by Nathan Jones, who has had several jobs, his stints at Luton being his most successful. There leading scorers this season are Bree and Carey with 2 goals each with Bree having 2 assists aswell.

Good ground for us in recent years but we will lose this one it's there turn to win usually 1 in 4 they get and with our disadvantage at the moment it's looking odds on Charlton ..a win can pull us out of the bottom 3 but I very much doubt it.

And if it wasn't bad enough we have 4 games on the trot in the morgue after . Then it's Southampton away and the pigs ...by the end of November we will be in the same place as when DR took us over absaloute no chance of survival.thus time !

RE: Charlton v The Owls SBC Match Thread - Statesideowl - 16-10-2025

I reckon we'll be dead in the water by New Year. The stooges will make absolutely certain that there isn't a spectacular comeback this time for Wednesday.

We haven't played 10 games and the stooges already allowed 2 offside goals against us.
1 dubious handball penalty that simply wouldn't be given against other teams. And Then Fergie time against Brum until they scored, even going as far as trying to push a winner for them too with the 101st minute attacking free kick from a soft foul straight after deliberately ignoring a foul on Valery up the other end, which would have given Wednesday an attacking FK in the dying moments.

Its so bad you just can't be missing it. Many people aren't anymore, thankfully. Opening their eyes too late though.

We're still getting punished for the innocent scally's behaviour in 1989 Doh Unfortunately it has now become folklore about how SWFC murdered them Doh and so we need to be continually punished by people who don't have a f'ucking clue about what really went on Doh

RE: Charlton v The Owls SBC Match Thread - Imre varadi - 16-10-2025

Tbh Maddix ever since the days of outspoken Big Jack and Wilko weve forever been playing against 12 both semi finals Highbury and villa park we got cheated one a free kick that never was tommy case and the other Alan Harper 20 miles offside I can remember Ipswich in the Facup away disallowed perfect goals by Lyons which we lost Courtney sending Chapman of at Hillsborough for nothing Chelsea and Everton cup battles that we never got the rub of the green and again free kicks and extra time that didn't exist ..all my life watching Wednesday basically .

RE: Charlton v The Owls SBC Match Thread - Statesideowl - 16-10-2025

If it were purely down to human error(As some foolishly believe) then statistically Wednesday would have benefited from it at some point..
No offside goals or dubious pens for us says plenty.
Let's not forget the season we went without a single penalty award despite a handful of nailed on claims.
There's also the fact we've caugh referees and assistants looking directly at opposition players as they handle the ball or stand offside and pretend they 'missed it'

It's very much happening.
