WBA Prediction League Cup Competition 2022/23 - FINAL RESULTS - St Charles Owl - 02-02-2023
The Prediction League Cup will kick off next week, it was won by Zinman last year who saw a Promotion/Cup Win double. The same set of fixtures and scores from each week will count towards each round of the group stages and knockout stages. League points are not affected, they still count towards the table as they always do.
Group matches will take place during weeks 22, 23 & 24.
The top 2 from each group will then face off against each other in the quarter finals knockout stage over 2 legs using weeks 26 & 28.
The winners of those then meet in 2 legged semi finals in weeks 30 & 32.
The final will be a straight sudden death result using the last weeks league fixtures for scoring.
Guaranteed to be a Premiership & Championship predictor in the final as per usual.
An online random number sequence generator was used to determine the groups for each league based on the current standings, here are the groups:

Group 3

Lady Jane
Themaclad
Amelia
Group 4
AAA
Twerton
BBB
Dingle
In the event of a tie between players, the number of Correct Scores will determine the winner, followed by total points scored on the Bonus Ball. After that Zinman and I will toss a coin!!!!

8 - St Charles
3 - Snooty
SCO and Snoots look like they are in trouble in this group as Derby and Sanjay open up a decent lead.
Group 2
27 - Stairs
13 - Minizin
13 - Blue Baggie
8 - Zinman
Stairs stellar week sees him surely lock in his place in the Last 8 but its still any of the other 3 who could join him.
Group 3
19 - BaggieOne
13 - Themaclad
13 - Lady Jane
1 - Amelia
BaggieOne opens up a bit of a lead going into the final group game, but Themaclad and LJ could still catch him.
Group 4
16 - AAA
16 - Twerton
5 - Dingle
4 - BBB
AAA and Twerton look to have this one sewn up but we have seen so much inconsistency this season that its not quite over yet!!
Last group games this week and this will determine the Quarter Final match up.

Sanjay pips Derby for top spot in the Group. SCO put in a heroic effort but just fell short!!
Snooty just simply fell!!Group 2
38 - Stairs
18 - Minizin
16 - Blue Baggie
16 - Zinman
Stairs ran away with the group in the end, lets hope he still has something in the tank for the QF!! Minizin just held onto 2nd spot holding off Blue and Zin, who like SCO put in a spirited effort to make up the gap!!

24 - Lady Jane
18 - Themaclad
16 - Amelia
BaggieOne ran away with the group in the end but LJ managed to break Themacald's heart with a fine last week. Amelia almost made herself relevant but it wasn't to be!!
Group 4

21 - Dingle
19 - AAA
7 - BBB
AAA and Twerton looked to have this one sewn up but Dingle had other ideas and pipped AAA to the second spot to oust him from the competition!! BBB landed on Snoots after he fell!!

These will be over 2 legs taking place in weeks 26 and 28.

Sanjay 7 v 13 Minizin
6 point lead for Minizin after the first leg.
Stairs 5 v 10 Derby
Bit closer in this one, just a 5 point advantage for Derby.
BaggieOne 4 v 14 Dingle
Largest lead after the first leg goes to Dingle who scored 10 points more than B1.
Twerton 2 v 1 Lady Jane
The only quarter final that ended with a football score instead of a rugby one!! All to play for in this one!!
2nd leg is week 28.

Minizin scrapes through to the semi final after doing his best to throw his lead away!!!
Stairs 4 v 17 Derby
Derby walks comfortably into the semis with an easy win.
BaggieOne 15 v 15 Dingle
This one went from the largest lead after the first leg for Dingle to a tie after the 2nd leg!! The usual tie breaker of the number of Correct Scores saw them tie once again with 1 each over the two legs, so we move onto Correct Results and in this one BaggieOne comes out top with 9 compared to Dingle with just 6 and progresses to the semis.
Twerton -1 v 3 Lady Jane
Lowest scoring game of the quarters sees LJ hold off Twerton, who unfortunately went backwards this week!!
Semi Final Draw
Minizin v Derby
First against Third in the current PL standing so should be a close one!!
BaggieOne v Lady Jane
Second v Third in the Championship, could go either way!!
Semi finals will be over two legs taking results from weeks 30 & 32.
