Everton manager issue - valpayne - 24-01-2023

I hope this won’t even get considered but I see on bbc sport Carlos is in the frame amongst others for the Everton job. Angry bloody typical bar stewards hands off

Money talks and while Everton owners are happy to invest our owner is just a thief.
Probably a double your money offer and a bit of compo for us would swing it.

Yeah..... can't they buy our owner, not our Head Coach?

It is just paper talk at present, if they say enough names one of them is bound to be right.

We are rightly worried as he has done so well for us, but is about 10th favourite for the job at the moment, at between 14 to 20 to 1.

Seems Bielsa, Dyche, Big Dunk Fergie, Rooney and Hassenhuttl are the five favourites, however as we know only too well, these things can change. Hope they keep their hands off.

It was West Ham last week! Any manager who is doing well is going to be in the frame for any managers job that comes up.

Exactly!
It's the same if a team has a forward, for example, injured - suddenly they're linked with every other one who hasn't played 100% minutes for their current club!
Buddy press...... Angry...... "If there's no story we'll make one up"

RE: Everton manager issue - Dingle-Dingle - 25-01-2023

Everton will continue talks with Marcelo Bielsa about becoming their new manager but will also consider appointing their former boss Sam Allardyce. (Independent)

Anything for a story eh!

Bielsa is worried about the squad's lack of pace and ability to adapt to his style. He wants at least promises that this will be rectified.

Of the names on the list who realistically might be up for the job and might stave off relegation ......... only Rooney looks to have the potential to perform that miracle.

I suppose that is where Carlos comes in - he might be able to make a team out of a not-completely-ordinary bunch of players and save them.

But the owner apparently also wants to sell Everton off at £500 million and is now denying it ........... which is hardly going to prompt AC Milan's manager Pioli to think, "after last night's 4-0 hammering by Lazio I might throw my hat in the ring for that Everton job." After all one of the world's leading coaches doesn't think the players are good enough, the owner regularly sacks managers, the fans hate the entire board, the team loses every week and the owner wants to sell the entire club .......... what else could a top manager be looking for?

Everton do have the second fastest player in the Premier League. If they are too slow for Mr Bielsa, maybe the GB 4x100 squad should sharpen up their football skills.

It's being reported Everton are in talks with Carlos.
With the failure to pay the £5m loan back for new signings, a massive pay rise if he takes the job and investment assured.
He could be on his way before the weekend.
Nobody could blame him for jumping ship, shame but that's football.
