Hibs apparently moving for Burnley's Kevin Long, an experienced CB who is out of contract next summer. Porto leaving and Long (or AN Other) coming in?

Jake Doyle Hayes being allowed to transfer to Forest Green - final decision up to him and his agent. I must say he never really succeeded for Hibs, scored a couple of cracking goals but never consistent enough to hold down a regular 1st team place.

Looks like Demi Mitchell heading for Hibs transfer exit door. Is this the first of the impending clear out that many Hibs fans are expecting? One must add that this transfer period is not a good time to get rid of any manager although I still perceive Johnson must be removed asap.

Kenneh now loaned out to Ross Co. Not a surprising move to give him some "game time" elsewhere as I always regarded him as being "off the pace" of a match for some reason and never quite the dynamic player who we really needed for that mid position. The "clean up" operation continues.

Melkersen loaned out to Sparta Rotterdam for the rest of the season! And what a huge disappointment he has become. Unlucky with injuries btw, but even before his injury probs he was never that good and certainly not the potentially vg striker many fans thought he would be.

Looks like Blackburn Rovers now joining Udinese in a serious interest to purchase Ryan Porteous. Meanwhile on the transfers in front, I must say I'm flabbergasted at the inactivity of HFC and certain accountable officials during a period when it is absolutely clear Hibs need to try to strengthen up certain positions in Hibs 1st team, positions that are glaringly weak and in need of attention!! Johnson saying in his last interview he's bringing in a new defender? Not enough IMO!!! I reckon this is the worst situation that I've ever seen at the club in this regard and it endorses my previous scathing comment questioning whether Hibs have deliberately given up on footie season 2022-23??

Odd, because from what i've heard he was very highly regarded by the scouts and staff at east mains. Maybe thats why a loan makes more sense at this stage.

I'm now looking at Hibs formal statement re the state of the 1st team squad and baffled by this part: ....."We're a small squad at the moment, but that's what we're after. We want to increase the quality, reduce the quality and bring the young lads through to compete for 1st team places"? We are leading in to an important cup-tie where we've lost Newell to suspension, Doyle-Hayes is confirmed as injured in training (50-50 to make it, so injured if he starts anyway and maybe lasts half an hour!) and Hibs appear to be defaulting in not signing anyone - we need to strengthen defensively, and f### the age limit pre-requisite bullshit Ron!! Also note no defender coming in as confidently uttered by Johnson last week in his PM interview!!! WTF is going on at ER???????????

Hibs first signing of January finally initiated. Too little, too late IMO! Looks like he could be a decent addition with a lotta experience. Jeggo doesn't score many goals, but we want him to help Hibs in conceding goals. Also looks like he'll be suspended due to a recent suspension in the Belgian league. So he won't be with us for a while!
