Sheffield United v Huddersfield Town - Amelia Chaffinch - 05-12-2022

Saturday sees our Championship clubs back in action after the break for the World Cup. Presumably because they don't expect any teams who have to select Championship players to still be in it.  Big Grin
Our lads have been for some warm weather training in Marbella. Although how hot weather will help them in the foggy, cold and damp conditions of Yorkshire I don't know. And, yes, I do really know what the thinking is behind it before some bright spark has to tell me.  Whistle

In case you didn't already know, we're still bottom of the table.
Sheff Utd are 2nd.
They have double our points with 38 and have a positive goal difference of 16.
They've won 4 out of the last 5.
Nobody likes a  Smartass
Just the sort of challenge we welcome.

Head to head ain't bad

Our first meeting since that play-off final was in 2021, as above. Our goals came from Koroma and Colwill.
Top scorers for the Blades includes Norwood, who came to us after our promotion to the Championship.

Top scorer Ndiaye was with the Senegalese squad so Snoots was hoping they'd beat England so we couldn't have the pleasure of his company on Saturday. The things we wish for.  Laugh
Those able to afford a ticket for Saturday .... 33 of your British £s  Sick should watch out for Oggy waiting to ambush them as you walk along Bramall Lane to the ground. That's where he got me. Talking of Oggy, I want him to be more like this guy when he's commentating:
I was going to do the intros in catchphrase style.
This was as far as I got:

But I decided it was too much like hard work.

Unusual for a Saturday game, I'm guessing it may have something to do with a World Cup game kicking off at the same time?

I'm sure I read some bollocks about England v France kicking off at 4pm somewhere as some clubs had moved their kick-off time to 12:30 to avoid it. 4pm where exactly? It's 7pm our time which is 2pm on the east coast across the pond. Iceland maybe?

Of course, theo. Well noticed. It do clash with Morocco v Portugal.

I worked in Middle East many years ago, and they were 3 hours ahead of UK. (We'd get Saturday football results at about 8pm their time).
So 4pm in Qatar = 7pm UK.

That might have explained it talkSAFT, but 4pm UK time = 7pm Qatar. Somehow it seemed to get translated to 4pm over here. No doubt down to some hack that doesn't do time zones or they thought it would be a 7pm Qatar kick off not 10:00pm, which is what it will be. Just like they don't do currency exchange when it comes to transfer fees between here and Europe.
