FA Cup 2023 - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 28-11-2022

In the third round, Albion will play Chesterfield away.

I remember Halifax. Sad
On the other hand, I think the last non-league side we played was Gateshead, and we did a job on them - Saido was good. Smile

Halifax, Woking, the list goes on.

But just maybe this coach is the real deal.

RE: FA Cup 2023 - Blue Baggie - 29-11-2022

I do hope we put a full strength side out. If we're gonna treat the FAC with disrespect I'd rather us not enter the competition.

Opening line of the worst ever Mills & Boon novel.

I went to Halifax. What a dismal day that was.

Much as I rate Corboran I fear he may not prioritise the FA Cup for you this time.

As a Chesterfield fan I hope he plays your best-available team. Obviously, we'd like to win, but the excitement of that prospect is massively reduced if the opposition is an U-21 side bolstered by a few first team regulars ....... Last season we got hammered by Chelsea, but it was a very good Chelsea side! Thousands went down to Stamford Bridge and kept singing.

We've got a good stadium, we can get a good crowd and we'll love hosting West Brom', so long as you don't try to pinch one of our players in the window. A historic club like West Brom'? We'll relish it. After all we did produce your best ever goalkeeper (at Quizball that is) - John Osborne. "I'll go Route One David." And he did! Bright, even if he didn't have hands like flypaper.

Well, I've been watching the Baggies for 60 years and I would argue strongly that Ozzie was in the top three goalkeepers I've seen over all those years.

We've not had an abundance of really good keepers, but Ozzie was among the best. (He did give me the shits once or twice!)

He gave us all a laugh in the one match when we were chasing the game (can't remember who against). The opposition centre half booted the ball as far and wide as he could to clear the deck, and Ozzie ran 50 yards from his (Brummie Road End) goal to quickly take the throw-in on Halfords Lane!  Laugh (The opposiition never bothered to come out their penalty area Laugh )

As Devongone said, he used to run Sportsquizzes in Midlands pubs, and I had a laugh with him about his throw-in down at our Local.

I think he's referring to the 1960s TV show, Quiz Ball? There was an Albion side on with Ossie once, though no surviving footage to my knowledge.
