How many more ...... - 4evaabaggie - 31-08-2022

Years of dinosaur football.

It's not working Bruce, it didn't work against Boro, it didn't work against Watford, it didn't work against Cardiff, it didn't work against Huddersfield and it hasn't worked against Wigan. IT ISN'T WORKING BRUCE.

Get another tactic, a plan B and a plan C or get out.

Lai give Albion back attacking attractive football. Act now before it's to late, we're only six points off top, for now. Still time to rescue this season, but not with this tactic.

Heaven help us

No, 4eva, you're wrong. Sooner or later one of the thousand or so crosses in the general direction of Grant will bounce off him into the net. It's just a matter of time, 6 months maybe?

Zinman, you could be right. He couldn't trap a bag of cement, so the chances of him being in the right place and the ball bouncing off of him into the net has to be quite high.

Maybe our league two striker can do better Whistle

That's if he joins he might like the look of Hednesford Town more, everybody else seems to fancy somewhere else.

This is so strange, it feels like were are bordering the bottom of the table, but we are 6 points off the top and have only lost one league game all season, plus at times playing some great football.

Why does it feel so bad Huh Huh Huh

RE: How many more ...... - 4evaabaggie - 31-08-2022

Salop,

Hi, it feels so bad because we have become used to mediocrity, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. We have become the great underachievers.
Draws were fine when it was two points for a win, their not enough when a win is three.

We have had problem positions for years now and successive managers have failed to address them. Striker, full backs, defensive midfielders, under investment.

We all know this is a tough league and if you don't take the win when your the better side and on top in games, at some point your form will dip and draws become defeats. Then the table becomes a slippery slide.

At least next season we can have a local derby in the league with Shrewsbury.

Not that bad yet but wins build hope and excitement.

4ever I think you may be right about the underachievement, I am sure most teams in the division would take most of our squad and many fans would trade league positions. For us though we know what we have been promised and what we are capable of and we are getting neither. I still think we will mount a challenge, but at present, it seems 'You've Lost That Lovin Feeling', as for me, 'I'm Still Waiting'. Lai needs to learn when we play the 'Liquidator', we are not playing his theme song, we know 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' but he needs to sort stuff out or 'Get On Down the Road'. With this squad promotion should not be an 'Impossible Dream'

I think Bruce will be saying: "In football, 'Strange Things Happening Every Day' and 'A Change is Gonna Come'. At the moment we are 'Under Pressure' but at this stage of the season 'Ain’t No Mountain High Enough', to stop us, 'I’ll Take You There', you just need to 'Lean on Me', 'Keep on Pushing' and 'We Shall Overcome' and in no time we will 'Movin’ on Up'.

Worse comes to worst at least it that derby you mention will be closer for us Big Grin

To right, not as musical a reply as yours, but I now live less than three miles from Montgomery Meadows in Bicton Heath.

Really hoping the "only way is up" and come the end of the season they will be saying "congratulations" as "we are the champions"

Heaven help me, best I stop now.
