Oh dear, it seems like most of us have forgotten how to do this over our summer holidays. As usual, we seemed to have trouble with our balls, particularly the Gamball where only one player got it right (and he chose not to play it!) An early lesson in never trusting either the Dingles or SG's Villa to get anything right!
Minzin leaps into an early season lead as the only player to reach even a mediocre score. 14 points from 2 correct scores and 4 results but he lost out on an extra 6 points by chickening out of the gamball. after that there's a gap - a very long gap to the other 4 players managing to stay positive. SCO takes 2nd place just a point above Snotty and Sanjay with Zinman celebrating his promotion/Cup double (have I mentioned that before?) by amassing an incredible 2 points - saved from a negative score by his bonus.
3 players all ended the first week with less points than they started - reigning champion Derby appears not to have recovered from his title winning celebrations and ended up with minus 2 points alongside Blue Baggie while Stirs was only saved from a complete washout and lowest possible score by a correct result on the final match.
Long way to go and I suspect we'll see some improvement in the next few weeks. To echo SCO below, if anyone reads this who isn't playing along, come and join in - you'll actually start with more points than 3 of the Premiership participants!

New season begins and it would seem some made good use of the pre-season to get them ready for the long road ahead, while others might still be tanning themselves on a beach somewhere!! Leading this week is parachute payment laden BaggieOne who scored 19 points off the back of a spot on Gamball and a CR Bonus ball. Themaclad is in 2nd spot with 16 points, he too scored the maximum on the Gamball. Dingle rounds out the top 3 with 13 points, he managed to score on 6 of the 10 games but wasn't able to get any correct scores which kept his score down a bit.
Relegated BBB is 4th with 11 points, he is maybe taking over the Stairs mantle in the Championship by not playing the Gamball and that saved him 3 points in week 1. Twerton is 5th on 3 points, a classic score for someone who missed on the main balls!! Lady Jane is in last place with just 2 points, her poor form at the end of last season could be in danger of flowing into this season, lets hope she can find the form from the first half of last season before she drops too far behind.
Slightly down on numbers this season, so everything to play for for everyone. Would be good to see Amelia and the newly relocated AAA join in going forward and if they get in quick then they won't be starting that far behind the others!! Also would be good to see others take part, its still open to anyone who wants to prove their ability to make complete guesses of scores or, as in Blue Baggies case, the ability to twiddle his thumb and finger to toss a coin as a way of predicting.
